good ol' play2win on New Oxford street has it, hazaa, but there's 2, terrible, terrible draw backs...
1) 3 FUCKING BUTTONS!!? there's no D button, what the fuck is wrong with these people?
2) not quit as sever, but still annoying, the buttons are in the wrong order (assuming that the button arrangement is the same as kof, i.e. A=light punch, B=light kick, C=heavy punch, D=heavy kick). Instead they had it as A,C,B!
But now to my experience and general opinion of this game. On my first go I was very, very disappointed, to the extent of saying "what the fuck is this recycled kof bullshit?" And yet, I played on, as if gripped by feral madness, the game, despite it's non-threatening appearance, had it claws deaply nestled into my flesh. How can this be? Is there more on offer than what appears before me?
Yes.
£8 pounds later & i understood why i continued to play this most uninspiring of offerings...
it's fun, simple huh?
Plain old fashioned fun, in it's most simple of forms. C'mon, be honest, this game ain't no KOF98, and it certainly don't hold a candle to FF:MOTW, these are some pretty deep games, with practically revel in their complexities, 'on screen martial arts' as some magazine or other put it, real heavy stuff. Sure, you can have shit loads of fun playing 'em, but make no mistake, it's more than a game, it's war, strategy, serious shit (just enjoyable).
With SVC, to me at least, it seems more playful. i'm sure there are quite a few nasty combo's available to the expert player (i was actually on the recieving end of some serious wrath from some Kyo player), but i can't help but feel that that isn't really the point, as it is with stuff like '98 and MOTW, where fun takes plays second fiddle to skill, e.g. a skilled player vs an unskilled play+ very one sided ass kicking! Whereas here, i find that you don't necessarily have to called Ryan Hart to be any good at the game.
Not that i'm saying that any old moron can pick this up and be an expert (even if it does seem like i'm implying that), merely, that you can leave your brain at home and just have a bit of fun, as opposed to organising your troops for the final coup against the evil empire!
All in all, a very nice game, and a lot of good fun, brought down only by the weight of expextation that was placed upon it.
ps.
Goenitz is a dirty son of a bitch and i hope he rots in hell!
Dan has really been training hard! (I would have beaten him second time round though, if only that Kyo player hadn't come along & kicked my arse so bad with his freakin' 9 hit combo's, WTF was that shit, someone's gotta tell me)
MR KARATE IS GOD (that Kyo player was dust when DA MAN was selected!)
Is Kim crap in this this, or was it just me? (please let it be just me!)
Genjouro= Ought to be illegal!
Hugo= fuckin' hard core! (why does Bao live in his hair?)
