Yesterday I got these two 2L6B control panels from codecrank, I'm very happy with them since both are actual "sega" panels instead of the "licensed by.." ones,

My intention was to leave them original and not ruin them by drilling holes because modded 2L6B panels never look like original 2L12B ones, but I noticed that the "Sanwa" compatible one (I think it's a Virtua Fighter layout) can be modified to look exactly like an original 2L12B..

I still haven't decided which drilling tip should I use, but I have read about tungsten hole saw cutters which are the best because they can drill cleaner holes.

hey glad you're happy with them :)

I have used a regular bi-metal saw before, see below. slower but it made a clean hole without messing up the overlay. tungsten is designed for stainless. it's more more expensive , but the tool will last longer. And if you can afford it, just get a carbide hole cutter.

Arcade Otaku wiki has the proper directions that will result in best clean holes of correct metric size. I used a step drill to cut hole big enough for shaft to go through and then use punch (purchased from UK) to punch it out. Very clean and very precise. Won't move a hair on you as a drill bit will.
