Okay 2D I really want your input on this one:

Is it okay to sell a "asian game (a hc english game lacking the ELSPA)" as a UK game??? I've got a couple Asian games and was wondering if it would be okay to do that....???

I doubt that anyone would send you to jail over it. I have sold lots of games without ratings on with no problem. Mst of the NGPC games were designed for anyone anyway. If in doubt when selling just state that it is for over a certain age. For instance i have quoted 'Sexy strip Mahjong' as being for over 18 years of age only.

Is ELSPA the US or European rating?

I think you misunderstood :) . Let me clarify:

There were 3 types of "hardcase" games...

1. Japanese hardcase games.
2. UK hardcase games (had rating and were in english.)

3. Asian (didn't have rating and were in english)

So what I meant was, would it be okay to sell the "asian" games as "UK" games? I've never seen anybody list a game as asian, so I'm assuming it's commonly done????

I think, but don't quote me on this, that the Asian released games were exactly the same as the UK games apart from the ELSPA rating on the cover. They had the same NEOP codes so i guess that it would be okay. I certainly wouldn't have a problem with buying them.

I think two types of games came into Europe anyway. Those with ELSPA rating on the back cover, and those with them stuck on the front lip (seperate sticker).

I think this was something to do with SNK but i wouldn't like to try and figure out what that was.

So the answer would be a simple yes to quoting them as UK/Euro Clamshell games. I guess that others may have different opinions though......

Put it this way, i am sure i have probably sold both types and have never had a complaint yet. :)

Hey, if you don't mind, if you could give me the NEOP code on like a metal slug 1 UK, I could check it with my asian one and see if they ARE the same. If you could do that I'd REALLY appreciate it :-).

i think the only thing people would get worked up over on ngpc games is if they have english language in game or japanese language in game

There are also other european clamshell version.

I saw at least the french/spanish version for some games, with all the back of the insert written in french and spanish.
