Watch, it'll just be more DLC for CotW
Honestly, I could live with that.

I'd love an AOF4, but with how COTW underperformed and AOF having a much smaller fan base compared to KOF and FF, my expectations of it actually happening are low.

Most people here gave up on anything good from snk about two decades ago so good luck I suppose
The problem is their IP's are famous, but most of their demo is too old and no longer buying new games. The last AOF game was nearly 30 years ago. There's too big of a gap between SNK's glory days and their recent revival to promote the cross-generational awareness they need. By contrast, Capcom was successful enough over the years with SF4 and 5 to keep that brand relevant.

This is it, Street Fighter is probably as well known as Nintendo and Sony. But yeah Art of Fighting? Lol nobody knows what the fuck that is outside of the goobsphere
There's a middle ground, though. The most recent Guilty Gear did very, very well. There's no reason SNK's franchises can't be at that level if they pull their heads out of their asses and don't actively piss off the small group of people that might be interested before launch.

Uh yeah no-one outside of the goobosphere knows or cares what guilty gear is
Guilty Gear Strive sold 3.5 million copies.

Those aren't Tekken/Mortal Kombat/Street Fighter numbers but still probably 5-7X what SNK's recent offerings sold.

I dunno man if I walked up to a random in the super market and asked them if they knew what guilty gear was they'd probably look at me like I was a meth head.

That's the point though. Fami's talking about a middleground where the game isn't a household name but sells modestly well.

Snks games aren't that famous bros

Yeah, not AOF, but casual gamers of a certain age definitely do remember Samurai Shodown, and many know Terry Bogard today. AOF hasn't had a game in 30 years, and never went beyond cult status, so there's no comparison.
