I always considered the AOF games single player games. Who even plays AOF 3 competitively?

They could have picked anything else. Ninja Masters, Waku Waku 7, Last Blade... Almost anything would have been better.

I guarantee they just picked a random game from their neo geo vs fighting lineup for this

This is awesome. I'm down.

AOF 3 has been getting some more love in FGC circles recently and there are some great primers on YouTube to learn how to play if you don't know the ins and outs of all the numerous mechanics at play. It's super unique, and unlike the first two, this one is best played with a friend to really get the most out of it. @Kristoff and I had a good few hours of bouts with it when he was in town a couple months back.

I'll be at Dream Hack again this year. I'm gonna enter for funsies even though I don't know any of the infinite juggles.

The only way I'd put forth the effort to "git gud" at AOF 3 is if you paid me $100k.

And I say that as someone that likes the game.

But yeah, AOF 4 or no AOF 4, I think it's pretty neat to have a tournament for a more obscure SNK game that has some real money in the pot. Would be neat if they did the same thing with other Neo titles that don't get much attention anymore.

I really love this mostly forgotten game is going to get some attention and love. We were already talking about playing some more AOF3 so this might be a great reason to keep the enthusiasm going. Learning the game a bit more deeply will make the matches all the more fun to watch

I think Mr. Karate picking up his mask means a new Art of Fighting is coming? That's my understanding of what the post means anyway.
