My carrier is dropping 3G soon too and going to 5G, but, they're just sending me a new SIM card in the mail, I don't have to get a new phone. I'm satisfied with what I currently have (a Motorola G-Power). As long as I can reliably access Facebook and AliExpress, I'm good. 😂

I deal with two companies..one of them is T-mobile and the service has been horrendous for the last couple of months, they'll be booting me off of 3G in July but things have gotten so bad,I may be dumping them entirely very soon. This other company is ending it the 31st.
I just need a device that's not too smart phone....I need the phone to remain lifeless until I enter in commands..until then, play dead.

I've been using Republic Wireless for the last 4-5 years and they've been great. I don't need much in terms of hardware and data. I bought a Moto G Power phone for around $250 a year or so ago and my monthly bill for unlimited talk & text plus 1GB of data is about $25 including tax.

When 3G went away my phone is now always on LTE and the service is so much better. I live in a wetlands area and while most of my friends complain about no service mine is fantastic.

T Mobile is God fucking awful.

I hate to admit it but using Comcast ("xfinity") mobile has been solid. They use Verizon towers and my coverage is so much better than it was with sprint/t-mobile. I tried their new SIM and it was worse lol.

I like my iPhone. I have Verizon. Good service but pricey. I have had T-mobile in the past and they aren't that great.

I’ve been using Verizon since the iPhone 4 came out. Other than the huge bill every month I have no issues. I use iPhones because I’m not an “enthusiast” for phones. I just want the same thing I had last time before planned obsolescence forced me to junk it. I also don’t really want to be without Messages.

Verizon as well. It's fast and coverage is great. It's pricey but you pay for what you get.

I would have gone with Verizon directly but since I'm basically forced to have Comcast for internet at home anyway, it was more economical to go that way. Can confirm the coverage matches VZ at least.

There are two companies that are off the table for me and they would be Comcast aka Xfinity and AT&T(I despise them both).
I have Verizon but I keep them for land line(s).Any other dealings with them and they'll want to confiscate my land lines and that ain't happening so I'm left with OTHER.

I’m still rocking a iphone 6s - love that headphone jack. I’ll stick with it till they drop iOS 15 support, it runs iOS 15 fine but not sure if it will run the next release.

I had sprint in Lansing, before t-mobile bought them. It was... acceptable. Speeds were not even close to VZ but I was never left high and dry.

I moved to the west coast of the lower peninsula, t-mobile is so bad here my phones would occasionally accidentally jump to wisconsin/central time. A camp ground no more than 15 miles out of town is an absolute dead zone for t-mobile. You can't even get a text. So unfortunately geographically I had no choice but to change, but thankfully the service from "xfinity" (Fucking hate calling them that for some reason) has been way more reliable and substantially faster.

I started with smartphones with one of those cheapo, tiny entry level Samsung Galaxy phones. I gave it away after I got a better phone but I wish I had kept it -- the little bastard was the Nokia 3310 of smartphones, extremely durable, just not smart enough by the standards back then.

I'd be rocking my Nexus 6 forever if it wasn't for me breaking the screen, I loved that thing aside from the sheer size of it. I use a Xiaomi phone now and I have nothing to complain to be honest.

My new SIM card came today, and after being put on hold for about half an hour, I got it activated. The dude told me to pick 4G in the options, after restarting my phone, and, I did so, but, it still only lists 3G, not 4G or 5G...

I'll probably have to call them back, but, they've wasted enough of my time for today, and, I've still got internet access, so, I'll live.

My phone says "LTE" next to my signal bars, so, I presume 4G/5G is on? I can't find any way to select 3G/4G/5G in the internet/mobile options? I'm using Android as my OS.
