I told him via PM a while back that I would buy it back at asking price. Oh well, at least no one got gouged.

He got pounded pretty good by a few guys, including chempop. They moved all the posts to the "what's it worth" thread. IIRC, he was trying to say he had restored it and made it minty, hence the (ridiculous) asking price, but AG is right, he kept dropping it and I think $700 was the final number.

You might want to re-read the "what's it worth thread again" where the bitching between me and purplebullets took place.

My first post in the thread was asking to see pics of the monitor running, test dot cross-hatch grid etc. I was pretty certain that it was Ash's old cab from the get go. Original asking price was $1300 iirc, it dropped gradually and a little flame war started. Actually I was arguing with those saying that it was only worth $400. I mainly posted that a cab's value has a lot to do with condition, this one looked to me like a minty restoration and the above average price was justified. Over a grand, hell no.. but between $700-900 definitely fair for the east coast.

still shitty that he didn't bother to offer it back to ash. I doubt he did anything to it beyond how he got it, it was a nice lookin machine.

When the guy came to my house to pick it up it was his first cab. He brought his friends work truck which was an old ford with a trailer cover on the back. He had me help him force the NAC in there, it was horrible. Scratched up the new side art and paint a bit, but once it was out of my garage I told him it was his.

I think I sold if for 800, maybe 700, but hell I had over 1600 in it so I didn't feel bad. On the east coast, with a new control panel, paint job, art and a solid monitor the price was fair. I think I gave him two PCBs as well. For him to represent it as his restore and try to even attempt to sell at that price makes me regret the sale. Oh well, hopefully a better person will own it now and he didn't mess it up too bad during his time of ownership.

Ash, I tried to buy it off of him TWICE, but he refused to budge on the price, ( this is when he wanted 1200 for it). I'm kinda miffed that he just dumped it. I for one will never sell anything to him ever.

Bummer, this is why some people should not own nice things. No respect.
