Ever notice in the big boiling pot they are cooking the xenomorph from Alien. I NEVER picked up on that until this weekend and I've been playing SS2 for a long time now. :p

I'll admit I owned SS2 for about 3 months before I noticed on Gen-an's stage that if you break the left bonfire, the fire sound effect quits on the left speaker only and same applies for the right.

A nice little touch that passed right over me at first.

I guess I probably just played SSII way more than a lot of people here, and with way mroe various competition that would point out findings.

I wonder if when we die, we'll be able to see how much time we spent playing each neo game, kind of like an odometer.

sort of , when you die your possestion are tallied up, though this is simply for the high score table, then if you've collected 10 keys you are along the way they let you into heaven

Nearly every stage in SSII is easily memorable. Its crazy to look at charlotte's stage and theme music, and its so obvious what kind of magic SNK had going on. Not only that, but competitively, these games hold there fucking own. Remember how muchn fun we had with our laggy shit SSIII? The inf's and bs, great time. Its gonna be impossible to touch FFS's krauser stage and theme or charlottes. No wonder playmore takes so much shit, who could live up to that, that was another time and fucking amen FFS and SSII are forever fun and good competitive fighters.

then why was capcom always able to make great bg's, and playmore not? the old snk had fat stages, but these playmore ones really look bland, dull and just plain ugly most of the time. all these old bg's where really well thought out and made with passion and style, thats why they always looked good. today it doesnt even look like they try to skecth that shit out first, but make it directly since they know its gonna look fucked up or something. i mean looking at the sf3 artbook and seeing how they sketched these bg's from scratch, its just art. samne thing with older snk games, before playmore toook over.

p.s. how come ROTD had some pretty nice bg's, but all the rest not. even SSTI bg's are really bland and dont look too hot IMO. ( even if most here like them).

Cause it was done by Noise Factory. Look at Matrimelee, another Noise Factory game and has some great BG's.

I always figured the alien was taking a bath in the boiling pot :D

The thing that I never noticed until I got my own JPN homecart of SSII was that when Sieger fired his cannon, the fire that blasts out is a nude upper torso of a woman with very big hair... and very big boobs :buttrock: It's shown in one of the screenshots on the insert.

I don't know if it's totally random, but I remember playing SS2 LOADS when it first came out and one day Kim flew across the back of that stage (in his DM rush). That was a cool little easter egg to throw in there. He's also seen flying in the back of Big Bear's stage in FFS like superman.

Man, SNK really loved Kim back then..

That's his deceased wife if I'm not mistaken. If anyone who's in the know wants to post Sieger's story, be my guest.

Is it possible to Mod a Neo Geo Home system to get this quality picture on my HDTV?

That would be great. I have a low serial AES untouched.

details like that would be best served by asking in the Tech Forums, so as to tap into the sage advice of the Tech Experts...my gut tells me the Neobitz Mod done by the one and only JMKurtz may suit your needs

Capcom doesn't make fighting games anymore. 3s is 7 years old. CVS2 was 5 years ago. The backgrounds in CVS1 were the best though.

I never noticed the alien before and I've been playing this game since it came out in the arcades.

Sorry for the delay in response. I didn't notice this thread.

Wow, if you never pointed that out, it would have taken years for me to notice that one! Thats even cooler than the alien!
