Hey folks. A few months ago I went with my family to Hershey Park and I road a couple of the roller coasters there. I felt fine till I went to bed that night. When I got into bed it felt like a lightning bolt went off on the top of my head. I took some aspirin and went to sleep, the pain was there in the morning but faded away near the afternoon. A few days later I started to get weird headaches. I got a "pins and needles" feeling on my scalp, it felt like my hair was being pulled out. I also slept in an odd position a few nights and my neck felt like shit.

I went to the doctor and I got scheduled for an X-Ray on my neck as well as an MRI. I've been reading up on the symptoms and see how they take a few days to manifest. I wasn't sure how long the pain stuck around, because I went before the 4th of July and it's October now. I just hope nothing else if wrong.

does it count when you suddenly turn your head to the side and you feel this intense pain shoot up you neck into your brain?

I just went for roller coasters this past August. That warning sign is best heeded if your physical condition is not up to the task.

Been in a few accidents, more concerts, and even more rollercoasters in my life, so yeah, I've had whiplash. Nothing like you, though, from what it sounds. I'd definitely see a specialist about that and even seek out therapy options if the pain persists. You might have something really wrong with your neck, and that's not something to fuck with.

I was in an auto accident back in 2001...car rear ended the holy hell out of our truck. Even though my neck didn't feel bad at the time, within 24 hrs my back/shoulders/neck were cast in concrete. Being dumb and young I didn't see a dr and it took some time before I returned to normal. It was awful, constant headaches and pain.

Thanks for the replies guys. I didn't think much of it since it comes and goes. Right now I feel alright but it'll hit me like a ton of bricks. The good thing I got from the X-Ray people is I can go in at anytime to get it done so I plan on going Monday, (If their not closed for Columbus Day...) but I gotta wait till the 16th to get the MRI done which was the earliest appointment they could give me. That really pissed me off. I know I might be worrying a little too much but this year my mother passed away from lung cancer. She never went to the doctor so when they finally checked her out it was too late. So for me I'm not screwing around with anything, even if it's something little I want to get it checked out NOW just so I get a clean bill of health and can go along my merry way.
