Any games like advance wars?

I'd like to find something like advance wars but with multiplayer and be turn based , from what I've read "Shattered union" seems similar , any other suggestions ?

Well if you wanna go old school for the PC, there is the Panzer General series.

Warsong/Langrisser on Megadrive is a fave. More of a fantasy themed tactical rpg of course.

If you have a PSP, Field Commander is basically a love letter to the Advance Wars series.

It's a really good game, derivative as it may be.

How about Return Fire for the 3DO/PSX?

Any videogame featuring 'Ride of the Valkyries' in its soundtrack deserves a mention.

Oh yeah,Field Commander kicks ass,too.

Shattered Union (PC/Xbox) and Field Commander (PSP) are both good ones.

There are two Fire Emblem games on the GBA (and one on the Cube) which are similar, but have swordsmen and wizards instead of soldiers and tanks. If you're really into the gameplay of Advance Wars, Fire Emblem might be worth a try for you.

There's also a Nintendo DS game coming up later this year called Panzer Tactics that's similar to Advance Wars.

Oh man, I forgot about Return Fire. That game got high scores by critics when it first came out... I admit I wasn't as impressed many years later when I finally played it.

I'm gonna reccomend Fire Emblem as well. It was made by the same devs that did Advance Wars(Intelligent Designs) and the game engine is very similar...not in a bad way though. You'll feel right at home if you've already grown accustomed to the AW gameplay mechanics.

Been A while since I played an AOE GAME.

I wish Blizzard would come out with some tatical Turn Based Starcaft and Warcraft Games for the DS.

dark penguin stole my thunder, but yes Intelligent Systems, which is owned by Nintendo, is the developer of both the Advance Wars and Fire Emblem series. They're very, very similar in play and execution.

Fire Emblem has been around since the Famicom era, but really hit its stride on the GBA...I mean all three GBA Emblems rule beyond belief. Some of my favorite games ever. You should start with the most recent GBA one, The Sacred Stones/Seima no Kouseki. Its much easier than the other two and also features more character types, crazy animation, etc. Play Fire Emblem and you'll never look back.

The AOE for DS is a turnbased game but it feels more like a midevil command and conquer than a tactics game. Nevertheless, still quite a good game.

I'll second Military Madness for the Turbo, fantastic game.

It's a bit of both, but far less resource-oriented than the PC AOE series. It's actually really fun and quite deep, even with less resource gathering and management.

Definitely a good choice, good call.

oh, and yes, it is turn-based, not real time.
