So my company is no longer paying for my cell phone and I need to get my own plan. I get to keep my Nokia 6820 and I'm planning to stay with Cingular, but I might get a new phone while I'm at it. I've read a bunch of reviews and thought I'd ask here as well. Anyone have a Cingular phone that they love or hate? I'm sorta looking at the Razr V3, LG CU500 and some Nokias. I don't need anything fancy. I just make calls and send text messages although I'd like to use MP3s for my ring tones.

Also, do newer phones get better reception in general or should I expect the same that I currently get? Thanks.

I have an L6 (basically the same thing as the SLVR L7, just without the MP3 player and SD card slot).

I like the fact that it isnt a flip phone. And the fact that you can just download Motorola Phone Tools and put MP3 ringtones on it for free via any mini USB cable.

They arent amazing and I did recently find my camera on it gouged out (it has a pretty soft plastic cover over the lens).

It also dies pretty quickly if youre in an area with no service since it constantly searches for a signal even when you arent trying to make a call.

I used to have Verizon. I must admit that it had a great network, but the fees were bad.

I just switched to T-mobile and no big complaints so far. Better pricing for sure.

On another note, from personal experience I can say that different phone models get different reception. It can really be hit or miss when choosing a model, but most newer phones should be satisfactory.
