Hilariously, my Miyoo Mini V2 came in yesterday and I spent some time yesterday evening getting Onion OS set up. I don't know what I was expecting, but the reality of this device is way, way beyond what I could have hoped for. Very cool little device.

Have we talked about AYN Loki in this thread yet? It looks way more appealing than any of the Aya Neo devices.

AYN Loki looks interesting and the price is really more resonable. (y)

Got myself a whit miyoo mini v2 and I'm really liking it.

Tried ONION OS but the MENU button didn't work for some emulators, and I've had also some missing BIOS problems so I decided to go back to the original OS. I intend to use it to play from time to time so I'm not really bothered by the original OS missing some features or not being as accurate as ONION with the display and stuff.

It's a shockingly good little handheld to toss in your pocket.

I'm going to test it this weekend. First impression: it looks good.
Shell, buttons and all other plastic parts come from Retrosix. Same size, good feeling. It's very close to the original.

Inside Zega MAME Gear, I planned to use PiZero2W/H. No need more for Game Gear games.
And probably CM4 after, for using shadders but more battery usage...

I looked up building one but I can't find a Pi for a decent price anywhere. I have some of the original Zeros laying around which would work, but they are so slow to boot into Retropie.

Yes, Retropie is generally slow for booting.
I have used default image provided by zegamamegear.uk and is pretty fast... I don't know how he has optimized boot time, great surprise.
(approx 16s for complete boot -> ES)

A little more pictures, everything is mounted and works perfectly

I have a retrosix GG shell I could use for this - do you know if he made mods to the shell itself or is it just a stock style replacement? I would not be adding the 2 buttons, just would use for straight GG same as you did

Zega MAME Gear PCB fit into original shell and Retrosix shell without any mods 😊

Indeed I am. For nowadays I mean, of course. In that tine it was lit (as well as the battery consumption).
