I guess not too many, because they are still available.
You're basically paying $280 for the aluminum case because a standard pocket is $220.

They did the glow, color, and transparent cases which sold quick. I guess 299 is the price point people aren't willing to cross even for a "limited" edition.

I’m not goobing for one but I do like the look of them. I wish they would do a Neo geo pocket shaped one but I’m sure it’s easier just to crank these out. Honestly I really like my pocket a lot.

I have a superstation ordered so that will be me dipping my toes in big boy Mister and I know it was just the Summer but it seems like new cores have been much more slower coming for a while now. The Sega System 18 has been in beta for over a year now I don’t even care anymore and I was excited for that when it was first announced.
I know this isn’t the developers first job and I am very appreciative of what has been done already but the excitement has kind of dropped for me until the Superstation is out.
