I never could get comfortable with the Kidney Bean. That design just never had enough mass to it for me.

Gimmie an original AES stick any day.

Then again, I've never used the Hori Neo stick.

Perfectly satisfied with my Old Style stick here.

Bought 2 Kidney Bean sticks some time ago, but they were lost in transit, it just wasn't meant to be...

I tried the Kidney Bean style stick at a friends place, but I still like the Old Style better. The form, the way the stick feels when moving... not saying the Kidney stick is bad or anything, just not my preference.

Definitely prefer the Old style stick.

Sits on your lap better and the ball top joystick is much nicer to use.

Newer stick is not bad for shooters. I worry about wearing out the buttons on the better sticks.

I'm not a huge fan of the kidney sticks for usage, but for the price they are good enough.

Kidney Beans aka NEO GEO CD CONTROLLER PRO are great for shmups like Metal Slug,SHOCK TROOPERS,BLAZING STAR,PULSTAR and any other game where you have to rapidly & consistently tap the buttons(3 Count Bout,KOM and KOM2).The original aka ARCADE CONTROLLER is better for FIGHT.

Original stick with Seimitsu 24mm buttons, the best of both! I've said it before, but I really hate the buttons on the old stick. They make my fingers hurt playing certain games like Samurai Shodown and Aero Fighters 2.

Originals for me because I mostly play fighters and I love how they look compared to the "bean" sticks...

I liked the original better than the kidney bean but I prefer the Neo Geo CD pads best.

When i first saw my kidney bean I didn't think it would be much good but it's actually pretty decent, I've been an MVS owner since about January this year and I've maged to clear Aero fighters 2, Sonic Wings 3, Pulstar and ZuPaPa with it. I have yet to use one of the old style sticks

I've had both, and I prefered the old style. Then I picked this guy up on ebay and fell in love.

My only complaint is that the A button is too far from B. Other than that it's got a solid arcade feel.

Never had a chance to try the kidney bean stick : [

But, I have 5 Original style sticks, needless to say, I'm a fan.

Old style for me but only with updated buttons.

But I still love a Neo Hori modded with a JLF w/octo and Sanwa 30mm buttons. I sold the first one I made so I might have to make another one.

I prefer the classic stick. I honestly can't really get into the 'bean' type; the stick, buttons, lack of mass, etc. Still, it's a pretty well made control. In terms of quality, I have no real complaints. The CD pad is a fun little alternative for certain games, but an absolute nightmare for fighters. The only thing I ever found it useful for is the fact that you can do Geese's throw cancels in RB2 very easily with the d-slide-pad, or whatever the hell it's called.

I've never really used the original stick, the closest I've come to it is the PS2 release. If the PS2 release is anything like the original I'm sorry to say I dislike it a lot. I've got two 'bean' sticks and I just love the concave top of the stick, allows my thumb to control circular motions with incredible ease. That said I prefer my sanwa modded HRAP3 over anything else.

Is there a true, noticable difference? I've never actually used the Neo' Hori stick, though I've thought about getting one just for the sake of completion.
