Ok guys i have looked all over the interwebs an the forums an cannot find the answer to my question. Perhaps i have missed it or something. However i hope that someone reading this post can help.

I am wanting to build my own custom universal arcade stick. However the only stick i have ever been good with is the old style aes stick . So i have looked everywere trying to find out what joystick the aes used an with what gate but to no avail sadley.

So does anyone know what stick model was used in the old style aes stick an what gate was on it?

I have a guess from a friend that says the closest would be a samitsu ls-32 with octagonal gate. That just doesnt seem right thought to me. I always assumed the aes stick had a square gate but i could be wrong since i know little to nothing about japanese sticks.

its a seimitsu part that was in the original AES sticks. you will definitely want to build your new stick with seimitsu parts, im just not sure which model is the closest to the custom one that was in the AES sticks.

Go for a LS-56.

Agree. This is the closest you will be able to get that really captures the correct feel. To really make it authentic you need to replace the balltop with one that is all cracked up on the inside.
