that collection is too little too late for me. Though I'll no doubt go watch Charlize Theron in the revisionist and probably (no doubt) much suckier version of AEON. At least the new logo helped me with my DVD covers.

Yeah I know. They were VHS transfers from when the entire series and Liquid TV shorts were originally released, since for some odd reason only that one DVD (back in 1999) was ever put out with only "Choice" episodes on it. If there's some behind the scenes stuff or other extras I might buy the legit box set, but I'm more than fine with my VHS to DVD-R transfers. Seeing as how I'm an International and Underground Film Buff who often can only get films that are in what would be 3rd Generation VHS copies on DVD-Rs, VCD etcetra... well my 1st Generation VHS quality is more than enough. + I already have the interview with Peter Chung, animation cells, the soundtrack...

so I'm good for awhile.

then HELL YEAH! *Fucking still pissed to high hell that AEON FLUX got the axe right before they released it. It was one of the reasons I bought a Playstation.

If I knew that Peter Chung was releasing this "Director's Box Set" because he actually gave a fuck about giving his die-hard cult fans the AEON goodness episode for episode and the Liquid TV shorts + all the goodies I already have, that be one thing. But me thinks this is only because of the new Charlize Theron live action film. Sorry but that's not good enough for me. I did support him on Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury which was bad ass. If I learn he plans to release a second season of AEON in all her glory (like it was slated to on MTV years ago) using the same methods and not CGing everything to death, then I might be quicker to bite. Like most things though, this just doesn't seem genunine to me. I'll pick it up alright, when it's in a clearance bin. I guess that's the jaded die-hard fan in me with having to go the GDVD route when I shouldn't have had to in the first place.

I really loathe AF's character design but the rest of the show was so great I couldn't stop watching it. I still prefer the Liquid Television debut that had Aeon dying in some horrible manner in each episode.

Yeah I'd have rather her had more meat on her bones, probably looking something closer to what Charlize Theron looks like (not as Aeon) in real life, which is why Lara Flynn Boyle should've been casted as AEON, with the hair done right she actually looks the part. BUT... that anorexic look seems to be Peter Chung's style for some reason. The head fucked MILF from Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury was kind of hot in a twisted way, and I saw mucho throwbacks to Aeon. Shoot here's me with AEON in the background...
