I was working on CHain of Jewels (Perform a 7 chain combo in X or X' Arcade Mode (Normal or harder). in Puzzle Fighter HD. this was the only achievement left before i 200/200. ive been viciously working on it. spent a few hours reallly late trying to do it, went to bed restless..started trying again this morning and Chain of Jewels literally had me PULLING my hair out...after almost 2 years, i finally got this achievement. I WILL NEVER PLAY THIS GAME AGAIN!!!

I've been trying to get some more Puzzle Fighter achievements, but I can never find a single person online to play with. Biggest waste of money ever. I even have a hard time doing single player due to how terrible the sprites look on all the HD stuff.

I think I'm going to hit 15K in the next couple of days. I know, Magician has the bigger e-penis, and I'm reminded of it every time I check his gamercard. I should start to rack up the easy points. Avatar: The Burning Earth, here I come...

Dude, don't do that- when I see that game on people's gamercards, I automatically lose respect for them. Not kidding.

Achievements are the greatest thing ever.

Adds so much replay value to games and causes me to play on difficulties I might normally never have even bothered with.

I rented Avatar, and played the game all the way through... Passing the controller back and forth with my (at the time) 7 year old little girl. She had fun with it. I admit, it wasn't a bad game.

For damn sure.

EDF and Bulletwitch are my two favorite games of this generation and I know I'd have never taken them to completion without Achievements.

Haven't been too many games lately that made me want to 1000/1000 them though... kind of saddened by that.

Still been drawing out game length with Achievements but nothing I've been too into like I was for those games.

Also just noticed I have close to 17k.

Certainly not as high as some folks here but that's a lot of gameplay.

Oh, all right, I admit that would be tempting. And kind of hilarious, too.

For me, on topic- just finished Bionic Commando, earned the achievement for finishing the last mission on normal. There's no way in hell I'm going back to play that shit on Hard or Commando, though, it was hard enough on normal, I'd say, especially with the way some of the checkpoints work (long as hell and doesn't give you a checkpoing after some of the hardest parts) random deaths that honestly seem to have absolutely no reason for killing the player, and other bizarre things that conspire to just be insanely annoying. Last boss fight is super easy, for some reason, with various other parts of the game being much, much harder.

Oh, and the twist that all the reviews talk about is about as mind-numbingly out there as they say, but it totally fits just how insanely dumb the rest of the script is, when you think about it. Honestly, I love the twist ending, it's awesome.

Couldn't agree more. There are games that would qualify as shit in any other gen, but I've played them just because of the Achievements. I know there are plenty out there who hate them, but I really think it was an interesting innovation, that while meaningless at the same time, really brings out the completionist in people. To me it's no different than having percentages in games to tell you how much you've actually completed. Always made an effort to try to get to 100% in any game that had that in previous gens so to me this is similar, and it's cool to keep track of different stuff you've done in games. Plus seeing what other people are playing or have played is cool. I've played games just because I saw someone else on XBL playing it so it got me curious enough to do so.

You should have just played through on hard the first time around, unless the achievements don't stack? If I know they stack, I try to just play it on the hardest difficulty because some games I don't like going through multiple times.

I had a hard time with this too. I thought I was never going to do it, but I wound up lucking out and getting it with a random chain. I was trying to get a big chain, but when the pieces fall that fast, luck is big part of it, no lie. My advice would be to just hang in there. I'm useless at that game and I got it, so anyone can.

I agree too. Like jro, I only go for the ones I care about, but when a game like Bioshock comes along, I feel compelled to try and get as many as I can (which reminds me, I need to play that again sometime). They really add a lot of fun and challenge, and encourage me to keep playing games I might otherwise abandon. Anything that adds replay is welcome in my book.

Anybody here did the "Little Rocket Man" achievement on Half-Life2 ep.2?
I still dream about it....

I've got 905/1000 in the Orange Box, and that's probably the total I'm most proud of. I could get another 25 pretty easily, but I love those games so much I don't want to wear them out.

The One Free Bullet is probably easier to get than you might think. I got it on Normal mode and I had no problems at all. Don't forget you can use the gravity gun, the crowbar, grenades and rockets. Just don't shoot your one bullet willy-nilly, you actually need it at one point.

I thought the hardest one to get was Neighbourhood Watch. You have to bolt around like a madman to stop those striders from blowing shit up. But man, it was very satisfying to get... I really felt like I accomplished something.

Goddamn I love the Orange Box. I'll have to play it again soon...

But where the fuck is Episode 3, that's what I want to know.

I've finally completed Dead Rising.

I know the game is rather old, but it was one of the few titles that really made me want to own a 360 in the first place. So naturally I wanted to complete all the achievements.

Most of them were fun to obtain, like "Frank the Pimp" or "Saint", and some were pretty challenging, like "Transmissionary" (definitely need a guide for this one).

Only one of those various achievements gave me trouble, which was the retarded "7 Day Survivor".

It basically requires you to leave the game running without interruptions or saves for about 14 hours straight. It was so boring and time-consuming that I actually fell asleep in the process (not before unlocking it, thankfully). I ended that run with over 8 days and plenty of food left after Frank starved to death.

I have no problem with the whole concept of survival in the infinity mode, but they should've just capped that type of achievement at 5 days max IMO.

In conclusion: awesome game but fuck that 7 Day Survivor nonsense, lol

Got an achievement that I honestly thought I could never get- threw a perfect game, five innings on normal difficulty in The Bigs 2. That's not easy at all, since the AI is cheap and much better (at least on anything besides easy) in TB2 than in the first Bigs. Got a 50 point achievement for the no-hitter, got a 100 point achievement for the perfect game, already had gotten the achievement for a shutout earlier. Pitcher was Carlos Zambrano. I think I got it because I wasn't actually paying as close of attention as I usually do- was in party mode and chatting with Ghost Dog all game, made me just chill out and take it easy all game and play better.

Probably the best achievement I've ever gotten, liked that one. Last batter I was holding my breath.

Dead Rising is what got me sold on the 360 (bought mine just for it) and made me realize how cool the idea of Achievements could be.

Have been thinking about going back to it and going for 1000/1000.

Best to insure your 360 before going for that 7 Day Survivor. :emb:

Me working on King of Fighters:KO'ed every character in Arcade Mode using all of the characters. 50 GS

i spent almost 7 to 10 hours getting all the kills in Arcade Mode, quitting out of the game each time i found my fight and won...i got EVERYTHING checked off on the spreadsheet list..and no achievement...What a terrible course of events...aint no fucken way im gonna redo that list...any helpful tips? should i just play arcade mode as each character and hoping it will just popped up randomly?? i lost much sleep because of this glitched achievement!!!

fast forward 3 days later

I spent another 7 or 8 hours working on it..I decided to do the spreadsheet all over agian for the 2nd time..this time, no quitting and finishing arcade mode each time..i was on my 15th or 16th character until it finally unlocked...An easier method is to group up a team of 3 and just pick out the order of character you still need to beat instead of using one character for the whole Arcade mode.....im just happy this godforsaken achievement finally unlocked..

1000/1000 in Blazblue. I was pretty pleased with that.
1000/1000 in Sonic's genesis Collection. this was easier than i expected.
Right now i want to get 200/200 in shadow complex. That should just be a matter of time. Then maybe Splosion man. I just need a partner for online....

I still can't believe Saturn2dfreak manages 1000/1000 on KOF12. WOW. I'm holding out for an online patch, and just buying/renting another copy to boost it. I have multiple US 360's, afterall.

Gamer Tag is : bbijcde

Why bbijcde you ask? I spent about an hour trying to get a cool gamer tag only to find that everything has allready been taken. I desperation i put in something random just to see what it would recomend afterward. Unfortunately it accepted my gibberish with no oppertunity to change my mind. Thus bbijcde was born. Honestly though .... its kinda grown on me.

What do people call you online then? Bibble? Babblejahcode? Bee?

Everyone just calls me half of my name, be it 'Heartless' or 'Ninny'.
