In the article pic, just over my shoulder,you can see a tiny bit of the NEO collection. plus, I mentioned the NEO specifically in the interview, and it made it in. I'm sure all of the people in the city will be pulling those old NEO collections out of the closet now.

Or, they will all be saying "WTF is a NEO GEO?"

Wow, you must live in a pretty cool place. No papers around here ever print anything like this. Plus the article even made sense! If one of my local papers ever tries to run a story having anything to do with gaming, they either totally dumb it down to the point where I feel stupid reading it, or it makes no sense what-so-ever.

I had no idea you could do such a business fixing consoles... Good work!

Thanks to everyone for all the kind words. To remove all doubt, I am indeed not the Pope, or Flea, or a Gnome, but the hunched over heavy set guy in the pic in the lower corner.

Some have asked how I got the story. Pure luck is how. My OSG Van, mentioned in the article, caught the attention of the reporter as I drove by. He checked out the site, liked what he saw, called me, and asked if I had time to talk to him. The truthful answer to that question would have been , 'No, I'm too busy" . However, since I'm not an idiot (most of the time ) I made time for this.

As it turns out, this reporter is a senior one who has some editor duties at the paper, so his stories tend to get higher profile (more luck for me). Hence the unbelievably lucky front page.

About the pic, it is indeed a staged pic. I do not fix systems with a stack of NES's and games next to me on the workbench. The photog wanted something iconic in the pic, to make it clear I wasn't working on an air conditioner or something. I could have been holding the tip of my iron in my mouth for that pic, if I wanted to.

It is very heartwarming to read the words of congratulation and encouragement from all of you. It means even more coming from my peers.

But, now I'm yesterday's news, lining birdcages all over Edmonton.

Sorry to all 'stache fans, but I lost the stache the day after the pic. I grew it at the wife's request, but it was driving me nuts.

That, and I figured looking different from the front page pic might be OK.

I never planned for OSG to be full time, but I *always* took it seriously and handled it professionally. Whether its people here who I've traded with, sold to or done work for, or people like JMKurtz and D-Lite, I've always tried to be honest and above board.

Both D-Lite and JMKurtz are indirectly referred to in that article BTW. Where it mentions pooling resources across North America, I was referring specifically to the help and co-operation I've had from Dean and Jeff, and some others as well. I can safely say that without that sort of co-operation, OSG's services would not be as good as they have helped to make it.

So that's a public Thank You to them.
