The military is not a community worksite. They need to people prepared to do a job. Mentally and Physically. There can be no question. Gender or Transgender. If you can do it, then you can participate. But... there can be absolutely no question that you can do it.

Do your eyes work well? No?, then get out of this Pilot seat
Can this person lift 80lbs for 20 miles hikes a day? No?, then join the Peace Corp
Is this person mentally stabile without any prior history of depression? Welcome aboard.
Are they mentally stabile enough to follow chain of command under stressful conditions? No, then you cannot join the military.

I don't believe they need to reduce minimum requirements for diversity. That makes zero sense for war.
The big hurdle for Trans will be proving they meet the mental standards. The statistics are against them and the military knows it, and no one is doing studies to help them show otherwise.

Yeah, obviously there have to be requirements to service, just as there always have been. But even the guys who were classified 4F and excused from military service still had to register for the draft and show up when called. If we're still going to have selective service, everyone of that age should be called, men, women, trans, whatever. After being called up, you can then disqualify any who don't meet physical, mental or emotional requirements. But 50+% of the population shouldn't have a get out of jail free card just because they identify as a girl, real or imagined.

I saw the photo of the lady that got her face caved in, during a UFC Fight with a transgender man/woman. It was so freaking bad. Men and women are built biologically different and there isnt enough estrogen a man can take that will turn it into a fair fight. The dude is a punk bitch, and he is a dude make no mistake. I dont give a fuck what he identifies as. Until a man can give birth to a child like a woman, and until a woman can ejaculate actual semen, they are what they are no matter how much they hate it. I've actually competed in professional sports (albeit skateboarding, but still, money was on the line). More than one race we had a transgendered athlete in... we let her race as a woman. Nobody fucking cared. It's normally not a huge deal. UFC aside, there are so few people of professional caliber athletics to begin with, and so few transgendered folks, that the circle of overlap just isn't that big. If it was that easy to declare female and blow out all the records, it would have been done by now. I'm not ashamed to say it took me several years of racing before my times met or beat the top females in the sport, and I'm a 6 foot 3 215lb man who has skateboarded more than 20 years.

I love my trans friends, I know many awesome transgendered people. I guaran-god-damn-tee you wouldn't want my friend Brian walking into a womens restroom, regardless of being born female.

Don't know why I'm even touching this thread with a 10 foot pole. FFS.

Skateboarding isn’t a sport that will display the problems of trans athletes competing against women.

If the sport focuses on technique then you probably won’t see a difference between genders. But when genetic components come into play the issue becomes clearer.

In most sports, there's men's records and women's records. There is a biological fact that no matter how someone feels, they cannot get around. There's a reason why men hold the highest level of physical performance in every sport I can think of...and it's simple biology.
