i juz recently purchased a new-n-box neo cd system (from Daddy[COD], thx..) which has PAL markers over the box. i'm trying to test if working. i opened it system looks clean and good shape so is the controllers. it didn't come with plugs to the TV but i saw s-vid and the composite plug and the l/r for stereo and i can get those from a store. however, the power supply looks diff as the ends of the plug looks circular and not wedged-like, am i gonna need another power supply to boot this baby up or an adapter would suffice??? also i can find s-vid and comp and l/r stereo cables to hook it up but not sure what signal TVs have in US, is it PAL or NTSC??? the box has PAL markers so i'm assuming its PAL version or something... what signals our TV in US uses, PAL or NTSC??? can i juz hook this system up juz fine on my US TV??? pls any help is appreciated, i juz wanna test the system up hoping it works fine. thx in advance....

US TVs use NTSC. I think an adaptor for the plug would work, but you might want to check with someone else. A lot of American TVs can support PAL, even an old Commodor monitor can if you adjust the virtical hold.

1. You'll need a special plug for the power supply in order to use it for your NGCD. It's a female plug with three pins. I doubt that there's an std-to-NeoCD power cord adaptor.

2. All US TVs use NTSC signals. If you want to use your PAL NGCD with one, you'll have to mod it to NTSC. Take a look at Nick's site or GamesX

Before mod'ding your NGCD, I suggest you read this thread first to avoid damaging your console!

Have fun!

You will need to get a converter to go from pal to ntsc for this cd to work or do the mod like stated above. When I posted this system for sale or trade I said it was a PAL system. The plug adapter you can get at radioshack. They are cheap only a few dollars.

Hey Daddy (...hhhmmmmm....and that still doesn't sound right, hhehehhh) how are you? yeah i got the NGCD PAL ver. the system is spanking clean and looked to be in NOS shape like the two controllers, AC power supply, manual and thx for hooking me up with a game ^__^. yes you did indicate that the NGCD is PAL i acknowledge that only thing that prompted that is i forgot what signal US TV is using coz i'm bout to hook this up into my 50"TV and i saw s-vid, RCA audio/video connections on both the TV and the NGCD you sold me so i thought hhhmmmmmm seems like everything is compatible thus far but hesitating to hook the two up coz i don't want to blow up my 50"projection TV so i went to here tech forum and ask first what US TVs signals at. wasn't trying to question what you advertised is true or not as i acknowledged that but to answer your question if i played it yet no i haven't yet. still trying to get it to run, hhehehehhh...but will let you know how it turn out, ok???

hey you happen to know where i can get a pal to ntsc converter???

hello and thx to takumaji, atariguy, and Daddy[COD] for hooking a newb up with some info. takumaji the procedure looks intimidating but i think i can try it the one from the gamex site looks simple enough to follow juz figuring where i can get the prerequisite components i need to attempt the job, hhehehhheh....i'll try radioshack thx for the links...

Hi NeoJetLi
I glad to hear that you like your system.
As far as a pal converter I'm not sure? I will look around for you to help you out. You might want to ask Jeff he will know. Sorry if you thought I was taking offense to what you posted. By the way things went great with our transaction. Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you. I will shoot you a email if I find anything.

I will keep you in mind for things that I may want to sell. That Daddy thing is from my old paintball days and has carried on to my UT games. Who's your daddy was kinda cool when your shooting 14 paintballs a second at some poor fool stuck behind a tree knowing I'm coming roach his butt! Enough about paintball my adreneline is starting to flow just talking about it. I'll keep in touch with you. Good luck with your system. Paypal does rule!
