I like 'em both. It really comes down to Wind Commander III vs Tempest 2000 for me, with the edge going to the latter.

3DO, i slate the system but it's got a handfull of good games, i still think it's got the best version of road rash.
Killing time, space hulk and return fire are worth a go as well.
Jaguar is a POS the "grail" aliens game has aged terribly and raiden is nowhere near as good as the ps1 version.
Gotta say though that the dev's who did the jag aliens game went on to make probably my fav aliens game of all time on the pc a few years later.

3DO because of the better version of Brain Dead 13. The Jaguar and CD-i versions were compressed to a single disc which made for very poor video quality.

Brain Dead 13 sucks either way. Jag rocks almost as much as N64.

Oddly enough, I have near complete sets for both of these.
I owned a 3DO during its original release. It's got gems.

The only time I played a 3DO was Total Eclipse on a store demo unit. Tempest 2000 is worth the price of Jaguar admission for that game only. So good.

3DO for sure. I can't wait to do an episode of my show covering the history of the console. People love to shit on it and call it a failure, but in 1993 it was pretty amazing technology, and the fact that so many of the best games on the system ended up on the Playstation really speaks to how advanced it was when it came out. It failed in the market for a number of reasons, but for a short period of time towards the end of the 16-bit era, it was pretty fucking badass if you could afford one (which I couldn't.)

Sure! Put them and yourself into a large flat-rate box. I have a spare bed and know where I can get unlimited amounts of bamboo.

Bought a 3DO around launch and wasn't disappointed. Road Rash, FIFA, Need for Speed, D, Alone in the Dark, Return Fire, Star Control, Wing Commander, Same Sho, SSF2 etc. Pretty ambitious thought beyond flawed system at the time.

Even had fun with some of the really cheesy stuff like Way of the Warrior, Off World Interceptor, Battle Sport, Gex, Crash n Burn, Shockwave and Captain Quazar.

Jags got Tempest and that's about it.

I'll have to give the edge to the Jaguar (Super Burnout, Tempest 2000 and Brutal Football), but the games with crazier concepts were on the 3DO (Quarantine, Immercenary, P.O.'ed).

Another vote for 3DO. I got one in late 1995 because it was far more affordable at that point than a PS1. I had some good times with Gex, Twisted, Wolfenstein 3D, Theme Park, Madden, Guardian War, Fifa, Trip'd, and even SSF2T with the regular controllers.
