Had some dingy grey support poles in the basement, that I had been wanting to do something with for years, but never got around to it. I figured the cheapest thing to do was paint them, and then I found some inexpensive vinyl racing stripes on Etsy. It’s kind of a nod to the MVS.

Picked up a 2nd AES on eBay, after making an offer. I will keep this one stock, with no mods. https://www.ebay.com/itm/384003158339

Kraut Buster New NGDEV - 2015

I just checked, and I ordered the Fast Striker AES game in March of 2018. So this March, that will make 5 year wait…so far. I was fortunate to receive Kraut Buster, so thankfully, Fast Striker is the only thing I have on order with them.

Kraut Buster New NGDEV - 2015

”Late 2023” now, for the Fast Striker AES 2nd print. In other words, don’t expect it this year.

Bitmap Bureau bringing Battle Axe to MVS/AES

When I saw the game announced, the first thing I did was recommend they make a Neo version. I don’t have any current consoles, nor do I have any desire to buy another console. But I’ll support the occasional new game coming out for a retro console.

The Neo is connected through S-video in the back of the tv. The composite is currently just going to a switch box, in case I want to use it for other systems.

I picked up a 27” flatscreen crt recently, off craigslist. The picture is amazing for old-school systems.

A new consolized MVS has dropped, the "Open MVS" AKA "OMVS"

I know this topic is over a year old, but this kit sounds like a fun project. If anyone else is on the fence about getting an OMVS shell (like me) because of the $100 price, I noticed on the LaserBear website that you can order shell with imperfections for $30. I ordered one, and it is really...

Nice! That is an awesome deal. Likely because they mistakenly called it MVS in the title & description.

    EGM supplement from March 1992

I stumbled across this the other night on an archive site. You can read back issues of EGM on the archive site, and in March 1992, there was a cool 16-page Neo Geo supplement (link below). I’m not sure if they ever did this in other issues, but it was fun to read. https://tinyurl.com/y4shlmvd

Anyone notice the custom pcb conversions?

This is the first I’ve seen this on eBay. There are a bunch of “conversion” cartridges, but they are all using custom PCBs. Here are a couple examples: https://www.ebay.com/itm/BE-BLAZING-STAR-USA-VERSION-NEO-GEO-AES-NEW/323571632450?hash=item4b565f4942:g:4qwAAOSw8PJb~X68...

    Small AES Collection

Here is my modest AES collection so far. Bottom shelf items are all conversions/multicarts. Still some space on the top shelf for additional NG.DEV games. I am really happy with the shelf I bought: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001KW0BJM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It...

    Next issue of Retrogamer (187)

I don't know if many here read Retrogamer Magazine. I have had a subscription for years, and they have done small features in the past about SNK/Neo Geo. The next issue (187), however, looks like it has some major SNK coverage, if anyone is interested in picking it up. Below is their blurb:

Official SNK Neo-Geo Book: NEOGEO: A VISUAL HISTORY ネオジオ〜目で楽しむ軌跡〜 (Publisher Bitmap Books)

Hey, I just received the latest issue of Retrogamer Magazine (issue #173), and there is a full-page article on your book. Pretty cool. That should help drive some sales :)
