I don't care that it's a modern take on the classic genre (one that I grew up loving), that latest trailer put me squarely in the "pass" category, unless it ends up with some ridiculous number on RT.

"Rain at night", the go-to method of covering up CG that the creative team knows is unconvincing
Physics that made no sense
Painfully silly one-liners
etc.

Oh well. I'm sure it will be successful like Transformers, not a bomb like Battleship.

Meanwhile I was much happier with the new Star Trek Into Darkness trailer--I liked it better than the first one.

Yes history still repeat itself. Remember how the wrath of Khan was so much much superior to the motion picture. Instead of into darkness maybe this one should have been called the retribution of Khan.

Pacific rim stand to be a good watch. I enjoyed real steel and pacific rim offers that time 1000 with hint of evangelion and gundam.

We'll see how it stacks up against this underrated classic from my childhood:

Haha. I gotta watch that movie at some point.

It's pretty fun, I saw it a few years after its release on HBO--I was surprised considering it wasn't a box office success.

it was my absolute favourite movie when i was a kid, and i still love it, though i now know that it is a crap movie.
guess that's why i'm excited for pacific rim.

I never heard of Robot Jox till I met OMFG then I rented off of Netflix. It was a fun little movie. I'd be nice if it had another robot fight but considering the budget they had on the film I guess they could only do two. The review the guys from Red Letter Media did on Half in The Bag for Robot Jox is well worth the watch. I really hope Pacific Rim turns out to be a good popcorn flick. I could give two shits on what the critics say about a giant monster movie so I'll hold out for the real fan reactions. I doubt it'll be worse then Man of Steel.

I love his work. Glad to see their getting him to do more for new movies and not just stuff they have at the Alamo Drafthouse. I really miss the good ol' movie posters where they'd get an artist to do a painting. Now everything is Photoshopped or it's a guy standing to his side with his head down.

My god the acting...and the editing?the short guy with glasses isn´t even in the same position after the cut +- at 00:22.look at the hand. Well maybe it was a cut for promotional purposes. the actual dialogue must be longer.Right? i wanna like this movie.

I trust Ron is bring his A game, but Charlie Day just seems like a weird fit in this movie. Still hyped as shit to watch it though.
