Just 40 a week; my department of the company isn't an earner so there's no opportunity for overtime.

37.5. I lucked out. It's basically a state (government) job. If I do have to work extra though, no OT because I'm salary.

I hear ya, I'm the opposite of an earner (purchasing) so I'm in the same boat. It's a wonder they keep me around.

To all of you who work the long hours: do they give you rope? As in, do they allow you to surf at work and give you time off for personal matters, like being at your homes for repairmen and appointments?

31, but it's not like it's a real job anyway. I only work because it's a great project and so I qualify for jobseekers allowance while I look for an actual job.

Yeah, the company itself is pretty flexible...unfortunately my direct manager is not as flexible :/

But I can (and have) worked from home quite a few times. But at the same time, even though they have these cool features in place...you can't really utilize them too much as there is an unspoken expectation to be there in the office and to work certain hours.

but one cool thing is that it's a european company too, so I feel they are more generous w/ vacation time than american companies i've worked for in the past...though there are basically 4 months a year that they don't allow time-off (unless its an emergency).

Yea, the US really gets fucked in the ass on vacation time compared to the rest of the world. Europe gets 4+ weeks, right? US gets 2. So our GDP is actually lower.

Spoiler:
Is that right?

I get 4 weeks paid vacation, not counting personal days, and can accrue sick days infinitely. Granted, I probably don't make as much as you guys working 50+ a week, but I like my job and it's fairly lax, so I'm pretty happy.

30-35 until school starts, then it'll be 24 or so. Actually, might be more until school starts as two groomers quit this past week.

Where I work, the internet is more tightly filtered than it is within the boundaries of the average totalitarian state.

I count work as the time from which I wake up and engage in morning rituals for the specific purpose of going to work to the time I actually return and step foot over the threshold at home. Which is basically the time out of your daily life that you devote specifically for work and work related issues.

12 hours a day.

You know, I've had jobs where I could afford to browse at work
but for the last 3 jobs it has been constant work.
Kind of a good feeling too though.
I feel like I've actually accomplished something as opposed to past jobs.

Also, since it's been brought up,
I get 10 hours of vacation time a month,
partially because I have about nine years with the state.
When I hit ten years I get an hour our two more and something
that amounts to .27 cents more per hour for longevity.
Seems like small incentives,
but i'd rather be working for the state than the past test engineering job I had.
Massive layoffs are never in style as far as I'm concerned.

I went from doing 60-80 hour weeks (6 days a week) in the game industry... to now doing around 35 hours a week.

If you include travel, i work 50-60hrs a week.

are you all quoting actual work hours, or just hours you sit in a the cubicle screwing around.
