I don't think eBay are as bothered as they used to be about dodgy stuff.

I brought fake GBA carts from a seller on there and despite reporting him and despite other users doing the same, he's still selling them and that was months ago.

eBay told me that they couldt take just my opinion on the matter and they were not in a place to judge.

The way that guy is listing the roms is quite clever, possibly why he has got away with it.

It's this whole "reasonably available" bit that allows all the romz sellorz to take this law and run with it. I doubt ebay will do anything about it.

of course not...if you cant beat em, join em, i highly doubt there arent many on these forums w/ ms xbox that is modded w/ ll neo geo roms, and buying an snk game that was released years ago is no lonegr supporting snk directly but its supporting hoever the seller is...in many cases its shawn of whom i like to support because i know it will allow him to fund this great site and spread the neo word...anyways...

**about ROMS**(3) Computer programs and video games distributed in formats that have become obsolete and which require the original media or hardware as a condition of access. A format shall be considered obsolete if the machine or system necessary to render perceptible a work stored in that format is no longer manufactured or is no longer reasonably available in the commercial marketplace.

Since when is the Neogeo AES not reasonably available? Just fucking go to Shawn or Trieu and bam, AES.

Anyone who beleives that pile of horseshit has no idea what that exemption is about.....

Trust me, It doesn't make any roms legal.......

I know a lil about the DMCA and copyright law... I could go on for two pages on how he is not doing anyting legal....

And since there may possibly be one more release of Samurai Shodown Special the system is not yet oboslete. It's still technically suported.

The emu author can go after him though.. considering many emu's aren't supposed to be distributed with roms.
