This is just a little appreciation thread for my personal favorite shooter on the Neo. Most people point to Blazing Star and Pulstar, but I just can't get enough of Strikers. Honestly, I don't even notice the slowdown while I'm playing.

I know this has been covered before, but I think this game has been discussed much less than the other shooters. So what are your thoughts on this game?

Absolutely awesome. We got a cab with strikers at my college's student center and I've played it too hell. I love the game.

i like this one a lot. the bullets keep coming and you keep firing. it's not as good as blazing star, but it's still damn fun. i just wish some of the ships have actual bombs instead of all of them having air support.

I'm with you there - actual bombs would be a nice addition. I wouldn't want them in lieu of air support, but having both would rock.

However, some of the planes have bombs as their charge weapons, so I don't know.

The game gets a little old after awhile. At this point, I would rather play AF2 than S1945P

This game f*cking ownz!

...too bad I'm usually "broke" when it's going in the ball park of $200 something smack a roos on EBAY though. :( *Especially that translucent blue MVS cart too. It's my 2nd favorite shooter on the NEO (the first being Blazing Star), but the game is just all kinds of OWNAGE.

Wow .... I wasn't expecting such a positive response about this game - I mean I know it fucking rocks, but still. I shall never underestimate the good taste of the ng.com members again :D.

I owned it, it was decent, not as good as the PCB counterparts though.

But I do feel like I should have never sold it--it was the only complete MVS kit I have owned.

BTW, it was the translucent blue one (even has a hologram sticker!) I think I paid about $120 for it. Thanks go to GamersAbyss;)

I love the whole Strikers 1945 series. Just got done playing a nice session of this on my MVS cab, truly a gem in my Neo collection.

Much the best pure shooter on the Neo in my opinion (Twinkle Star Sprites is better for two player action though).

This thing took up residence for several uninterupted months in my two slot, it really is a joy.

I don't understand why only Pysko ever seem to do the shuffling of the first few levels, it adds so much fun to the game. A Metal Slug game that did that would make me cry with happiness.

I picked one up at Cosmicco a few years back when no one wanted it... cost me $65 for a complete kit. Hehe... yeah, it's a favorite at my place... if we are playing airplane shooters it gets a lot of play. I still think the Sonic Wings series beats it out, but that is just because I dig the humour. The game does everything well, and with no Neo-Slowdown... always a plus. Wish it had a real ending (or seperate endings for every plane, but now I am getting greedy... I would have just taken one). Overall good game,

-Nick

Well I'm glad my cherished S45P is in the mist of a great owner. Play a game for me bro. Every time I see you post I think of that baby...

Take Care,

NEOryu

Yep, I do love the game. The only problem is that I play it so often that it's difficult to keep it in collector's condition. Oh well, I guess fun is what it's all about anyway :).

It's fun, but nothing special.

I found more enjoyment with 1 and 2 than Plus, but it is still a solid shooter. It can get rather hard come the last few levels, which is cool. I thought the plane selection was rather weak, and one of the planes being terribly overpowered - forget which -but it was the "gimp" plane.

I didn't like the alterations to my Shinden; I don't even think it's called Shinden in Plus - I remember being a secret plane. Shinden in Strikers was tops :).

Great game although I still find the Aero Fighters to be better overall.

It's the Ascender.

Yes, The Shinden does rock, as does its bomb, the Samurai Sword. (The F-4's is called Samurai Sword '99 in S1999)
