There's no need to kill it, it's already dead. It would seem that one more dedicated cabinet has fallen victim to the plans of the Japanese Arcade Machine Manufacturers Association.

Go for it...

If you sold the board and the game, You'd have the cab for like $80.....

I don't know how far that is from you matt, but seems like a better deal than that other one...

Well it's about 4 hours away but I am sure I can get a truck to go get it.

It looks like it can be saved with bondo and some love.

Damn, I have that same cabinet with a four slot MVS board in it. It's an Atari cab that was either a Rolling Thunder or 2 player Gauntlet at one time. That cabinet still has hope. New paint, decals, and a control panel overlay will do wonders. I'll post pics of mine later. I love my cabinet, it's small and easy to move. Plus it's an atari cabinet, so it's built like a tank.

Another member was asking about this cab in tech..

http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=74171

I'd say go for it..Decepticon..

If I was able to get a cab for a cheap price in my area like that I'd buy it..(pick up)

I like projects..and I really don't see where this cab needs bondo etc..

Just throw some Conversion kit stickers on the sides,a control panel overlay and a 1 slot marquee and you'll be in business.
Shoot the parts in this machine are well worth the asking price..
I just paid $80.00 for a MV1 MVS mother board..
Think about all your getting..and in person you could check it out..

You could probably cut the top if you wanted to straighten the angle of the marquee..(if you didn't like it)

I've seen some bad cabs and this cab is not bad..
A little time and effort can do wonders..

The angle of the screen is close to a Candy Cabs screen angle.

I'd fix that up if I could find that type Neo Geo Cab in the US.

So whats so special about this cab that would make you want to? Are spares for these things pretty easy to get? And lastly, there's no board in there, what kind would it take?

Soz for all the questions but if its worth doing as a project then i'll gladly do it

Thats an Electrocoin cabinet, theres plenty of them about it would cost more to repair then you could fine a decent one for sale, the only thing that apeals to me about that cabinet is the memory card slot in the front. Compared to US cabinets English manufactures cabinets so generic looking and ugly.

That cabinet is pure sex, I have never seen one so sale in our country other than a MAME candy recently which sold for mega money. Wouldn't mind one of those Naomi Universal cabinets either but still yet to find one for under £500.:-(

I notice that this supplier will ship world wide, it might be worth finding out the shipping cost to the uk, you might find that the cabinet still comes in under £500, if that's the case i might be tempted myself :D
Trouble i think would then arise from stepdowns etc, thats something else i would have to look into

I have an electrocoin 6-slot and if you insult its honour again I'll get very upset. I may even weep openly. It's beautiful I tell you :very_ang:

If you're interested, the owner of the auction for the candy cabinet says $280 shipping to London port. Think that would mean coming in at just under £500 (for cabinet and shipping)

I have two of those 4 slot Candy cabinets and I love them. They are very fun to play and each have a four slot motherboard. One of them still has all the decals in order. The other I am cleaning up and making all white.
