Hadn't really seen this discussed too much yet, and I thought it might be of interest to a few. I'll post this in several sections, so those who wish to reply with quotes will have an easier time of it.

Haohmaru = Usui Masaki
Usui-san voiced Haohmaru in every SamSpi game except the 2 Hyper NEO-GEO 64 installments and the PS game, "Kenkyaku Ibunroku Yomigaerishi Soukou no Yaiba Samurai Spirits Shinshou" (Nakamura Daiki played Haohmaru in those 3 games, and in CVS 2). BTW, I'll refer to the PS game as SamSpi Shinshou from now on, if only to spare myself some typing. Usui-san's other roles include:

> Hattori Hanzo -- SamSpi 1
> Earthquake -- SamSpi 1-2
> Kuroko -- SamSpi 1,3
> Ryo Sakazaki -- AOF 1-3; KOF '94-'02, KOF Kyo; CVS 1-2; BURIKI-ONE
> Mr. Karate -- Fatal Fury WILD AMBITION (PS ver.)
> John Crawley -- AOF 1-2
> Daimon Goro -- KOF '94-'02, KOF Kyo

Nakoruru = Ikoma Harumi
Ikoma-san has been the voice of Nakoruru in every incarnation, save two: Chiba Reiko voiced Nakoruru in the (universally-panned) SamSpi anime TV special (Samurai Spirits Haten Kouma no Shou -- aka, Samurai Shodown The Movie), and Kouda Mariko played her in a series of 4 SamSpi drama CDs released by Media Works in 1994 & 1995. Fans of the NEO Pocket "Card Fighters" series will remember Ikoma-san as "Harumi," the 3000-BP opponent found on the 2nd floor of NEO-GEO Land. Here are some of her other roles:

> King -- AOF 1-2; KOF '94-'01, KOF'02 (DC ver.), KOF Kyo; CVS 1-2
> Yuri Sakazaki -- AOF 1
> Sinclair -- AOF 3
> Charlotte Christine Corde -- SamSpi 1-2, 4, RPG
> Rashoujin Mizuki -- SamSpi 2
> Blue Mary -- FF3, RBFF 1-SP-2; KOF '97-'02, KOF Kyo
> Mika -- KOF '98 (this character is originally from the Neo-Chup radio programme, hosted by Ikoma Harumi and Kamitani Keiko -- Mika is one of two opponents on the 1st floor of NEO-GEO Land in "Card Fighters")
> Naoe Kotetsu -- LB 2
> Takaoki Kiyono -- drama CD: ATHENA ~Awakening from the ordinary life~

Tachibana Ukyo = Yano Eiji
Yano-san has voiced Ukyo in every SamSpi game. His other credits include:

> Shiranui Gen-an -- SamSpi 1-2, RPG
> Amakusa Shiro Tokisada -- SamSpi 1, 3-4
> Robert Garcia -- AOF 1
> Lee Pai Long -- AOF 1
> Rody Birts -- AOF 3
> Brian Battler KOF '94,'98
> Sie Kensou -- KOF '94-'02, KOFKyo; ATHENA ~Awakening from the ordinary life~
> Astlios -- ATHENA ~Awakening from the ordinary life~
> Akatsuki-maru -- BURIKI-ONE
> Saionji Takato -- BURIKI-ONE
> Freeman -- Garou MOTW
> Kamio -- COOL COOL TOON

Kibagami Genjuro = Kong Kuwata
Without doubt my favorite NEO voice actor, Kuwata-san has played the part of Genjuro in every SamSpi game to feature the character. Other roles include:

> Neinhalt Sieger -- SamSpi 2
> Geese Howard -- all FF starting w/FF3; KOF '96, KOF Kyo; CVS 1-2
> Richard Myer -- all FF starting w/FF3
> Duck King -- all FF starting w/RBFF; KOF '00

Senryo Kyoshiro = Monster Maezuka
His real name is Maezuka Atsushi, IIRC, and he's been the voice of Kyoshiro in SamSpi 2-4 and the SamSpi RPG. An enduring NEO voice actor (thanks primarily to the KOF series), his other roles include:

> Kafuin Nicotine -- SamSpi 2, RPG
> Nikaido Benimaru -- all KOF; CVS 1-2
> Ralf Jones -- all KOF
> Choi Bounge -- all KOF; CVS 2
> Wang Kohsan -- AOF 3
> Wyler -- AOF 3
> Shikyo -- LB
> Mukuro -- LB 2
> Ival -- COOL COOL TOON
> Bakudan-kun -- COOL COOL TOON

Re: Re: Samurai Spirits Zero voice actor list

Hattori Hanzo = Arai Toshimitsu
With the exception of SamSpi 1, Arai-san has been the voice of Hattori Hanzo in every game to feature the character. Some of his other roles are:

> Heidern -- KOF '94-'95, '98, '01, Kyo
> Kusanagi Saisyu -- KOF '95, Kyo
> Rugal Bernstein -- KOF '94, '98, '00; CVS 1-2
> Omega Rugal -- KOF '95, '98
> God Rugal -- CVS 2

Galford D. Weller = Koichi Mantarou
The more recent voice of Galford, Koichi-san played the character in SamSpi 4, the SamSpi RPG, and the 2 Hyper NEO-GEO 64 installments (Galford was voiced by Inage Kazuhiro in SamSpi 1-3 -- Inage-san also voiced Robert Garcia in AOF 2 and KOF '94-'95). Koichi-san's other roles include:

> Karman Cole -- AOF 3
> Robert Garcia -- AOF 3; KOF '96-'02, Kyo
> Ripper -- KOF Kyo (Ripper is Geese Howard's bald man-in-black)

Tam Tam = Nishimura Toshikazu
The 2nd person to lend a game voice to Tam Tam (the first was Inage Kazuhiro in SamSpi 1), Nishimura-san took on the role with SamSpi 4. His other voices include:

> Chin Gentsai -- all KOF
> Heavy D! -- KOF '94, '98
> Wan-fu -- SamSpi 2
> Kuroko -- SamSpi 2
> Tam Tam -- SamSpi 4
> Hopper -- KOF Kyo (Hopper is Geese Howard's man-in-black with hair)

Kubikiri Basara = Nonaka Masahiro
The voice of Basara in SamSpi 3-4 and the SamSpi RPG, Nonaka-san is better known as Kusanagi Kyo's voice actor. He has played Kyo in all the games in the KOF series, and in CVS 1-2; his voice was also used for Kusanagi Kyo 1 and Kusanagi Kyo 2 in KOF '99.

Hisame Shizumaru = Kaneta Miho
Kaneta-san was the voice of Shizumaru in SamSpi 3-4. She also played Kusanagi Shizu ni KOF Kyo.

Kafuin Gaira = Watanabe Takeshi
Watanabe-san was the voice of Gaira in SamSpi 4 and the SamSpi RPG. He also played Yagyu Hanma in both of the Hyper NEO-GEO 64 SamSpi games.

Charlotte Christine Corde = Ikoma Harumi
(see "Nakoruru," above)

Yagyu Jubei = Kobayashi Kiyoshi
IMO, a big part of the heart and soul of the SamSpi series, Kobayashi-san provided the voice of Yagyu Jubei in SamSpi 2, 4, and the RPG, as well as the announcer/narration samples (Iza! Jinjou ni... shoubu!) -- very disappointed to hear that he's not narrating SamSpi 0. I'm also a big fan of his anime voices, which include:

> Daisuke Jigen -- Lupin III
> M. Avdul -- Jojo no Kimyou na Bouken
> Ankoku Daishougun -- Mazinger Z vs Ankoku Daishougun
> Narration -- Yuushaou Gaogaigar
> Narration, Delaz -- Gundam 0083
> Kreuger -- Gundam F91
> Inaba -- Ashita no Joe
> Poseidon -- Arion
> Talos -- Crusher Joe

Kobayashi-san's also done quite a bit of voiceover work for American productions being dubbed into Japanese, some of which include:

> Forge -- X-MEN (FOX animated series)
> Al Capone -- TV version of "The Untouchables"
> Jake the tiger -- Eddie Murphy's "Dr. Dolittle"
> a number of voiceover's for Tommy Lee Jones, including Two-Face in "Batman Forever"

Re: Re: Re: Re: Samurai Spirits Zero voice actor list

Kazama Kazuki = Yamanishi Atsushi
The voice of Kazuki in SamSpi 4 and the 2 Hyper NEO-GEO 64 installments, Yamanishi-san is also the voices of:

> Enja Kazuki -- SamSpi64 2
> Billy Kane -- RBFF 1-SP-2, FFWA; KOF '97-'00, '02, Kyo
> Payak Sitpitak -- BURIKI-ONE

Kazama Sogetsu = Oikawa Naoki
The voice of Sogetsu in SamSpi 4 and the 2 Hyper NEO-GEO 64 installments, Yamanishi-san is also the voices of:

> Suija Sogetsu -- SamSpi64 2
> Kuki Seishiro -- SamSpi Shinshou
> Tashon Mao -- SamSpi Shinshou
> Kusanagi Souji -- KOF Kyo

Enja = Oohata Shintarou
Oohata-san is the new voice of Enja. Info on his other voice work is hard to find, which makes me suspect he's a new player in the seiyuu industry. Two of his current anime roles are:

> Black -- Gad Guard
> Youichi -- TEXHNOLYZE

Suija = Nose Ikuji
Nose-san is the new voice of Suija. Like Oohata-san, info on Nose-san's work is a little scarce, so he may also be a voice-acting newcomer. He recently did voice work for both the DEAR BOYS and Kaleidostar anime series.

Yun-fei = Taki Satoshi
Kusaregedou = Shinomiya Gou
Haven't been able to find info on either of these gentlemen yet.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Samurai Spirits Zero voice actor list

Rasetsumaru = Nakajima ??
Still looking for the proper pronunciation of Nakajima-san's first name. 嗣生
He seems to be another newcomer. Recently, he's done voices in the Gad Guard, Full Metal Alchemist, and Nurse Witch Komugi-chan anime series. He's also done voiceovers in the Japanese FOX Network broadcasts of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel.

Rera = Hikami Kyouko
Hikami-san is a veteran seiyuu, with credits almost too numerous to mention. She played the role of Rera in the cancelled-after-1-episode Nakoruru anime series, and provided the voices of Ubaba and Nakoruru's mother in the PC/DC game upon which the series was based (Nakoruru ~Ano hito kara no okurimono~). A few of her other roles are:

> Rimururu -- SamSpi RPG drama CD
> Takane Hibiki -- LB 2; CVS 2
> Saya -- SamSpi Shinshou
> Wendy -- Psychic Force series
> Marin -- Seifuku Densetsu Pretty Fighter X
> Nina -- Breath of Fire III
> Cacao -- VS Knight Lamune & 40 Fire

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Samurai Spirits Zero voice actor list

Tokugawa Yoshitora = Yuuki Hiro (real name: Tsuyusaki Teruhisa)
A newcomer to SamSpi, but with an anime voice acting career spanning some 10 years, Yuuki-san plays the new character Tokugawa. Noteable roles (including one NEO-GEO character) are:

> Alfred -- RBFF2, RBSP Dominated Mind, KOF '99 Evolution
> Arc -- Arc The Lad 1-2
> Black Lamuness -- VS Knight Lamune & 40 Fire
> Kuroto Bueru -- Gundam SEED
> Mikhail -- Gundam 8th MS Team
> Makoto -- Evangelion
> Sumida -- Dai-Guard
> Jimmy Gates -- Virtua Fighter eps. 9-14, 16
> Omi -- Weiss Kreuz
> Alfred -- Slayers NEXT
> Dende -- Dragonball Zed, Dragonball GT

Like Kobayashi Kiyoshi, Yuuki-san has also done a good deal of voiceover work on American productions being dubbed into Japanese:

> Stan -- South Park
> Gingerbread Man -- Shrek
> Peter -- The Brady Bunch Movie; A Very Brady Sequel

Majikina Mina = Yukino Satsuki
While not a seiyuu for as long as others (such as Hikami Kyouko and Kobayashi Kiyoshi), Yukino-san has made quite a name for herself in recent years. The first name on this list makes me think that she was at the top of SNK Playmore's list of desirable Majikina Mina voice actresses:

> Kagome -- Inuyasha
> Sumirekawa Nenene -- R.O.D. THE TV
> Tina Foster -- Ai yori aoshi
> Francoise Arnoul -- Cyborg 009
> Milly Thompson -- Trigun
> Celia Stingray -- Bubblegum Crisis TOKYO 2040
> Chidori Kaname -- Full Metal Panic!, Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu
> Otohime Mutsumi -- Love Hina
> Miss Arca -- Arcade Gamer Fubuki
> Chris -- Sol Bianca
> Maetel -- Maetel Legend
> Kizaki Tamayo -- Angelic Layer

Rimururu = Nabatame Hitomi
Chanpuru = Nabatame Hitomi
With Rimururu's new sprite comes a new voice. This one may take some getting used to on my part, as Kamitani Keiko fit the role better than just about anyone else, IMO (and coming from someone who's as huge a fan of Sakurai Tomo (Rimu's SamSpi 3 seiyuu) as I am, that's saying alot). Rimu was played by Matsumoto Megumi in SamSpi 4, but Kamitani-san took over the reigns for the 2 Hyper NEO-GEO 64 installments, SamSpi Shinshou, Nakoruru ~Ano hito kara no okurimono~, and both the Asra Zanmaden and Nakoruru anime series. Hopefully, Nabatame-san will be able to live up to Rimu's voice pedigree. BTW, Chanpuru is Majikina Mina's diminutive companion. Listen for Nabatame-san as the voice of Arcueido, in the soon-to-be-released Tsukihime anime series (based on the doujin game series of the same name).

I could've sword that Arai Toshimitsu did the voice for John Crawley in AOF 1 and 2. His voice screams "Rugal".

Kinda sad that Kobayashi Kiyoshi isn't reprising the role as announcer, but whoever they go to replace him does an absolutely fantastic job.

Its also kinda sad that most of the voices are 100% ripped from SS4. It makes me wonder if some of the voice actors have moved on from SS and gone off to do other projects.

Thanks for the actor list! :D

Wow, seems SNK continues in its path of using famous anime seiyuu for new chars.

KOF2001 was a bless under this prospective. I have to clean my pats each time I hear Wakamoto Norio as Igniz...!

Erabareshi shikumei no otoshigo... ima koko ni chiakara wo shimesu yo!

Not to talk about Mayumi Shinatani totally making Angel sounding just like Haruhara Haruko (FLCL) in both lines and acting!

ITTADAKIMANMOSU!

Kori kori suru ka nya~~!

Oh well, Clone-Kyo vs K9999 in KOF2002 is a classic of its own... ne, Akira? ;)

Thanks for the list Chris, I can add this to the IMDB. Do you happen to know the SvC Seiyuu by any chance?
I was waiting for the soundtrack CD's release on 11/6/2003 to see if it'll include voice effects tracks and a cast listing (since I hadn't found any online Japanese sources just yet). Somebody posted a listing of voice actors for SVC CHAOS at IMDB -- don't know if he/she has access to official info, or if he/she simply listed the actors who usually play those characters.

That was me, I've been adding nearly all the SNK titles that are now in the database (Kof Games, not to mention Samurai Shodown). It indeed was conjecture, based off of past games. I heard the SVC Mook has a voice actor listing which is why I was asking if you had happened to translate those so I could "finalize" the cast.
