Would you consider a US CD system complete with all packaging, manuals, and warranty card worth more because it is a US system - versus a Jap system with the same contents?

In short, are US CD systems worth more then JP CD systems?

I am trying to determine if I made a good deal with someone for a US CD system. I paid $240.00 for the system complete as listed above. I know that is more than a typical JP system, but was trying to justify it in my mind as OK because it is a US system.

Thoughts? Comments?

$240 complete/mint for a US system is a good deal.

Some Japanese systems that are 100% complete and mint with manuals/warranty cards, near mint to mint box and 2 pads can run $220-240 itself... but you are talking near new condition.

US systems are worth more than Japanese.

Correct me if I am wrong, but is it the same with the NGCD System as with the NGH System, that the US ones do not show breast movement and blood? I have a JPN CD System and it shows it and have a US NGH System that shows it, but for some reason I heard it should not unless modded. Which it is not modded. Weird! Anyway, just curious!

Just wondering, what about PAL systems?

I think PAL would be the most rare of the systems, but probably has a low demand as well....

They are pretty cheap :)

TO be honest.. I had 3 brand new ones... BRAND NEW in box... and I ended up only getting $100-120 for them EACH.

and trust me.. I only had a few bites on them ... no one wanted to buy them though.
Reason... most of the bites were from Europe... but shipping is expensive overseas with the neo CD systems.

2nd... no one in the US wanted them.

Well I paid £150 for my front loader about 2 years ago and that works out at about $240 at current exchange rates.

The package was in near mint condition (the cables and joypads had never been used). The only thing that stopped it from being mint was some slight wear round the edges of the box and a couple of scratches on the system.

Taking into account inflation, I'd say you got a decent deal.

My PAL machine was £399 new on release, i'm quite sure its a pal version, although it came with a scart lead, i had the option of either, its uk anyway im pretty sure..

For one thing there was definatley not enough ads for it, i only saw maybe 2 in EDGE magazine in the uk

"US NGH System that shows it, but for some reason I heard it should not unless modded. Which it is not modded. "

That is an interesting question. Maybe it depends on the region of the game you are playing too. Maybe if you play USA game on USA system you will get censored game? I dunno since I've always had my cdz region modded and never bothered to check this. If i have US game in Japanese mode, it goes to Japanese game with all the action.

I guess I will have to check this out!

Some games will have Mia bouncing everywhere and it doesn't matter if it's on US NGH or Jap, blood is a little different though. Usually you get white blood or green blood on a US NGH, as opposed to the natural red on a Jap NGH. It doesn't matter what region the cart is, it's just that some games are more lenient or strict on these two "cencerships".

By the way congrats on the Neo Cd

Personally I would not pay more for a US system because of being US, and i never heard that before.

About Pal, pfff, that’s a mediocre system, I mean... those black thick frames on the screen are disgusting. Only if you are a mega hardcore collector, and you need to have every version of every machine, should be worth getting it.

U guys are getting totally idiotic on this whole US-Jap thingy.
A Neo-Geo IS a Neo-Geo!

Anyone who feels that the US version of any neo-geo system is far more superior than the JP version oughts to go fuck themselves.

It depends, I do not understand Japanese so a US Neo is worth more to me. That is why I have a US NGH System. I have a JPN Top-Loader, but am happy with it because it is Like New even though I cannot understand any of it :( And, by the way, nice way to make friends here with that tone!

Hello, I am new to the forum and have done some searching yet cant find much info on the CDZ. I am searching because I have somone I am meeting today for a Loose CDZ console and he wants $200 if it works and $80 if it doesn't. Is this a good deal? (i already ordered power supply we are testing it today, I also have many controllers so I can make it complete) any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
