I've got a tired JPN Neo CD front loader and its gradually developed a nasty 'wurrr, wurr, wurr' made by slipping gears in the lazer movement track assembly. I've stripped it all down and the teeth on the gears seem okay but the running surfaces at the centre of the gears are getting sloppy. Anyone know about getting hold of Neo CD repair kit to replace the worn parts?

Cheers!:help:

The laser in the NGCD is just a off the self part. If the part number is the same as whats in yours it will work.

I could be wrong but the repairs available are for the top loader, the front loader uses the same mechanism as the 1st sega cd and last I checked nothing can be done on these units.

That's too bad! Lately I've been resting my Sega CD on its side when it doesn't feel like playing a disc. Something tells me the end is near.

Theres not pot on those, so that you can adjust the strength of the laser?

I haven't cracked it open to check, I've mostly been using the Sega CD as a back up for the LaserActive. Have you had any luck making adjustments on those old Sega CDs?

Never had a sega cd, but look up "sega cd pot adjustment". I'm sure you can find something.

there is a pot adjustment for the Sega cd 1 the pot dial is blue! if they share the same parts that could fix it temporarily but many of the sega CD issues are beyond repair just with a pot adjustment, the positioning and sensors go bad too and there is nothing you can do! so this may apply for the FL as well!
