if it''s just a SFII on the SF3 engine of some sorts that would be fucking lovely.

I am so curious now, I am going to blow up.

Firts there are rumors of something like this.

Then they deny the rumors.

Now they say they will show something at the Tokyo gameshow?

I can not wait til the 26th of the is month to find out.

BTW every day I wake up and log I have less and less posts. By next week I will be at negative :) .

Why release that and not release all three Street Fighter 3 games on PS2?

I'm interested in this, but why no SF3 on PS2 as of yet?

such a good question

I'll never know why third strike hasn't made it to PS2 or XBL yet.

Lord I hope there's some truth to all this. A new SF of any sort would be very welcome. The grandaddy of all fighting series has been absent for just too long.

I want a totally redone SF that's not in any sort of vs series. Continue the legacy..

either that, or a collection of all their stuff on a couple discs.

I think that the PS2 version of SF3 would be worse than the DC one. Just look at CvS2, the DC is the best one.
Concerning hyper etc.. , perhaps, we will see a SSF2X with the SF3 engine.
Wait and see

It'll get canned six months from now for no apparent reason.

Although they did say they were wanting to go back to the older SF2 style/aesthetic, maybe this is the first title to come from that.

All the CVS2 games are 99.9% the same graphically. There almost is no way you can tell them apart

"Hyper Street Fighter 2 X"

This better not be what im afraid it will be.... 13 year old low resolution 2d sprites on a 128 bit high resolution console. :shame: *vomits*

Its like the crying game all over again.

Sammy vs. Capcom
KOF on Atomiswave
a new SF2 title on PS2

Things are looking up for us 2D fighting fans.

I'll make sure to stay tuned. A new SF is always welcome. Especially if it runs on the SF3 engine

I wish in honor of the 15th anniversary of Street Fighter (not SF2!) they'd remake the first into something playable. As it stands, its a rather crappy and forgettable game.

Why is there so much speculation that it will run on the SFIII engine? Did I miss something? I mean I love the SFIII engine, so that would be welcome news if that is the case.

Im just worried that since there calling it Hyper Street Fighter 2 X it might just be a slight update to SSF2X. Adding online play maybe.

Im not going to get my hopes up till I see more details.

What would be cool is a remake of SF2 with high res 2d graphics (all 2d even the backgrounds). At least as much animation as SFIII, and using the SFIII engine. That would be awesome! :buttrock:

It better not be a minorly updated re-release either.

I'll hatemail Capcom into the ground if thats all it is. "Hyper Street Fighter 2 X" indeed. That title just doesn't make sense if its a new game or remake.

I wholeheartedly agree... Karate Champ has been absent for too long. ;)

Seriously, this better be good, and they better seriously have Sheng Long in there.

I would die if that happened. It would harken the end of the world where Capcom hasn't made a good fighter since SFIII. I couldn't imagine that world.

I'm thinking re-release, due to Capcom's history with these things... but, I will happily welcome with open arms a new update to the series.... Although I really like SF3, SF2 is where it will always be for me... well for the time being atleast ;)

The cynic inside of me says this will:

a: be 3D

or

b: canned ala Capcom All-Stars

I'm going to wait for some screen shots before getting worked up.

Otherwise, this is cool news, but can they PLEASE just make a sprites-only sequel to the Darkstalkers series already...?! I'm still bitter it was left out of the CPS3 spurt...
