Okay, I know people have said that it doesn't exist for the NGCD because NGCD just wouldn't be capable of running a game like Kizuna because of its tag system.

But have you guys thought about NGCDZ ? Maybe it could run Kizuna?

I just have a feeling that maybe it was being developed for CDZ or something..

Why am I thinking like this? Well, take a look at this picture from Neo Bomber Man's site: <a href="http://www.castleofcollectibles.com/gallery/flyers/kizuna-1.jpg" target="_blank">Here</a>

You can see the NGCDZ on the Kizuna flyer, right?
Weird huh?

Oh well..

Maybe it was planned then cancelled...

CDZ is anyway the same hardware as the CD. Only loading times are a bit faster, otherwise it's 100% the same memory amounts etc...

Doesn't CDZ have more memory than CD? Or that's what I have read.

No the CDZ is exactly the same at the normal cd in every way, it has the same memory, the same 1x drive, the only difference is that the CDZ has more cache than the cd.

Maybe CDZ could use the extra cache to run the Kizuna's two character tag system..

Nah, the extra cache is for disk access, it's at best a few kilobytes and most certainly anyway not merged to the main ram and not accessible to the programmers.

Kizuna on any of the Neo CD systems would be like playing a tag fighter on the PS1, Painful, aggrivating and in the end a waste of time. Why put Kizuna on CD when they'd have to take out the very thing that made it fun just to do it?

Sorry to burst your balloon, but I had lots of SNK's release schedule's going back to 95, and contact with them, almost all releases were proposed for:

First MVS, if this made enough money/interest then

AES, if this shipped enough carts, then

CD, if this got good reviews, and still strong in arcades, then

PSX, then Sega Saturn.

Ive got the whole schedule for 1996, there is no Kizuna cd, but artwork was always done about a year before the MVS release date, so sometimes they noted it for CD, or even playstation.

There were some exceptions to the above system, but this is how it generally worked.

Ive got an original flyer and poster for "Q.P" a puzzle/variety game that was touted for CD, then MVS, but got canned, when the master was stolen.

Its a business, some ideas dont get off the ground, but it's fun to fantasize! loco
