I am about to get rid of my AES and all of its games and i really dont want to leave the Neo Scene yet.

So now i ask is the Neo CD a pretty good system? I basically want a Neo system for the Slugs and fighting games..

Thanks in advance.

about how much would one of those run me friend?
If you already have the home system, all you need is a phantom-1 converter. http://www.neogeousa.com I think they sell for 275 new, but people sell them all the time in the market forums.

Otherwise, it would cost you more to buy a MVS board, supergun etc...

I'd either go for a Phantom or Supergun. I dunno what prices are like in the US, but here in the UK it's cheaper to buy the MVS versions of The Metal Slugs, Pulstar & Last Blade than the CD versions. Also remember you can't get any games for the CD after KOF 99.

If you only want to play Neo Geo games then a Phantom would be a cheaper option, but with a Supergun you also have the ability to play other arcade boards.

The Neo CD toploader is a brilliant piece of kit, I'm quite a fan :)

If you're not that bothered about missing out on the newer releases then the CD unit is a great choice to replace the AES.

Loading times can be a pain, but the software is cheap (by and large cheaper than the mvs counterparts), easy to find and many CD games have arranged soundtracks and bonus features that neither the MVS nor AES carts have.

You'll be able to get all the KoF's up to and including KoF '99; Last Blade 1 & 2; Pulstar; Ninja Masters; Neo Turfmasters; Neo Driftout; Overtop; Breakers and lots more of the really popular back catalogue stuff.

Plus CD only games like Zintrick and Ironclad.

Metal Slug 1 & 2 are available on CD - X,3 & 4 are not.

There are very few pre KoF '99 games that aren't available, but those that spring to mind are Fuun STB, Ultimate 11, Blazing Star and Waku Waku 7.

You can get all the Fatal Fury's (ex. Garou), AoF's and World Heroes too :)

If you want to do Neo on a budget then CD is the way to go :)

See Bluevodoo about get a set up and games :D

I'd go MVS

or buy some CD's and use emulation like Plisken does.

I would do it but....Read my sig :D
what he means is that Plsiken has original games but no neo cd to play them in

so he uses a neo cd emulator to run his original games on his pc
