Is SS4 CD as nice as SS3 CD?

I have SS3 on CD and cart and besides the load times (which I tolerate quite well due to the nice little animations), I notice no real difference in play or animation.

My question is; Does SS4 hold up as well on CD? I really dont like the game enough to buy the cart, but on the CD...for cheap...why not? If it is as good as SS3 turned out.

Another bonus was the AMAZING soundtrack in SS3 CD. I mean, wow...I had no idea....makes it worth the loads.

Let me know!

Another thing, does SS3 have any animation cuts compared to the mvs/ngh version?

He said he didn't notice any, and I have heard that there aren't. But I'm not speaking from personal experience.

Hey, Im no Oedipus...er, expert on the subject, but It looks quite faithful. I'd have to say none at all. SS3 was only, what? 288 megs? With the 56 meagbits of RAM on the Neo CD, I dont see a reason why it would need to cut anyways.

You know, I'm going to play the cart right now and make some comparisons.

No, SS4 blows compared to SS3 on CD. I can't tell any difference between ss3 CD and cart version (well the better music)

I can tell they took out some animation from SS4. Also, some foreground stuff is missing (the rock in the front on the beach stage comes to mind, it's not there in the cd version) But out of all the ports of SS4 (NGCD, PSX, Saturn) it's the best. Not a terrible game, so if you can find it cheap, then buy it.

Music is outstanding, as usual.

um... its not bad at all...

I am a fan on SS3, so I like it better, but... its still very well done.

I cannot do a good comparison to the AEs version, because I have not had my hands on one long enough.

but anyway, its a cool game!

AFAIK, there are no real cuts in SS3 CD, but I noticed a difference between one desperation screen, a sprite that is moving on cart doesn't on CD, really a forgettable difference IMO. Perhaps there's more of this subtle stuff, but it's no prob at all.

Sound is better, and there are more gameplay options on CD. There's an auto-super mode on CD that lets your chara pull off a DM if you press ABCD repeatedly. Oh, and there are unlimited continues.

Yes, I also just noticed some small animation cuts, but it is nothing that effects the game. For instance: the animation between Ukyos intro stance to his fighting stance is cut...and it is noticeable, but not a big deal. CD version is still beautiful.

It really is. I have SS3 on cart as well, but I prefer the CD over it because of the awesome sound and the better video output of the CD console. The load times don't bother me. Heh, I'm LB2-CD-hardened after all... that's what I call some serious loading.

Thank gof I got LB2 coming for HC in the mail. I've seen the numbers, heard the stories (making a sandwich between loads) and I dont want to attempt it. Though, I hear the Soundtrack is magnificent.

I'm patient, but not THAT patient.

I just wanted to add something regarding SS3 CD and missing animation. I have noticed some missing frames during the character select screen, particularly with Hanzo. The CD version cuts some frames out. It doesn't bother me in the least, but I didn't see it mentioned anywhere in this thread.
