Hi,

I only need some suggestions. In near future I will be an owner of a nice sweet but used candycab. I was told that it has some yellowish and some marks at the doors and its side.

Is it possible to (easily) get it into nice condition (painting, cleaning) or would it be too much effort? I never saw a cab except from photos so I really dont know whether I should buy it with the description given or better wait for a cab in better condition.

Help is appreciated. Thanks.

Well since they are metal they clean up very easilly , and if they get dented , you can pop the dents out easilly as well. Also if you wanted to repaint a portion or a whole side it would be a very simple process since they are metal. Sand , Primer , paint = simple

Even better , if you know anyone who sprays cars you could have them shoot it for you in some trick paint scheme , or just spray it white again ?

Scuff marks rub off very easilly with a little bit of Goo Gone or you could even go with the fineist steel wool you can find and scrub on it with that { I did that on mine and it worked really well } as it wont eat the paint off of the cab.

I painted the Capcom cab on the right. It was a HUGE job. Basically I had to take it all apart and blast it over the course of a week. It turned out really well, but it could have gone a bit better I assume (I had to paint in my bathroom, since I do not have a garage...)

Still, it turned out nicely, considering how bad it looked before... I will just say, it was a BIG job... hehe,

Rustoleum Enamel Flat Spray Paint. I used about four light coats and it turned out really nice. I got the outdoor rust proof paint since my cab was starting to rust bad in some areas.

The bottom is weather stripping, I just bought a piece, cut it to fit and it looks nice! It is on with Epoxy. I replaced all the buttons and sticks as well as gave it a new CPO. All and all, it was costly, but it turned out pretty well,

It's the mini-cute!! AAHHH!! I envy you! I've wanted one of those since before I started collecting machines. Honestly, That and a Candy are the only two machines I ever INTENDED to buy. I just keep running into them, and they're too cheap to turn down.

I have a neo candy thats seen a lot of use. The metal cleans up easy with any normal cleaning supplies. I was able to get most of the marks off with out to much effort. The only two problems I ran into were 1. the plastic around the monitor is a bit on the yellow side and theres not much I can do about that. 2.my friends looked at me like I was a madman while I was cleaning it up. I guess the average gamer doesn't polish up his hardware:)

oh yeah, I got my from arcade infinity and had to do a lot of clean up in the console area due to all the metal filling from were they drilled the holes for the extra capcom buttons.

Similar... yeah. You have some rust to clean up and some paint to retouch. Not bad, it shouldn't be to hard to restore it. :D
