Default difficulty is Level 4 going by my MVS, sorry for any ambiguity :)

I'd rather keep it single credit only too. Pics preferred if submitting large scores, but not essential.

Can't think of any other rules that need stating.. please suggest any if you think they're appropriate :)

Man, I seriously lust after a conversion of this cart. MVS carts of ST seem to be getting harder and harder to find though.

14,229,100 / Stage 6 / Usual Team & route

Made it to the stage 6 boss for the first time ever, but pretty much all of that stage was played for survival rather than points.. <img src="http://www.the-nextlevel.com/board/images/smilies/sweat.gif" alt=" - " />

This is just to clearify/verify
Milky Jungle route.

I tried using multiple characters, but that made me relearn too much. Put the game back on the back burner.

It should not be too difficult to break my score. This was only after one week of training.

Besides Your Skill > My Skill. it is a fact. wink

The real reason? My monitor is temporarily vertically oriented.

I may try again, now that there is competition in my skill range.

I must Defend #3!

Did you know I have some psychic abilities when it comes to people's Shock Troopers scores???

elbarto, I see that you are getting both close-range kills on the clawed minibosses on Jungle 3, and the ones in the "alternate" route on Valley 5 (Stage 6). Tarma, however, is killing the ones on Jungle 3 with regular gunfire instead of close-range kills. You're missing out on first-aid kits, dude! wink I can't get a good read on too_short's score, but I'll take a guess and say he's playing the Valley route first.

so tell me, am I right or wrong? :D

Yeah, I was killing them with regular gunfire, but i am starting to get a bit more adventurous :)

Keep making dumbass mistakes which is why I've nott got much energy left by the time I get to the stage 3 final boss frown

Close, but not 100% right :p

The St3 clawed minibosses and the boss of the "route change" stage both went down to close range kills. I haven't found the alternate route on St6 yet though.. I was too busy just trying to survive :)

hmm, not sure how I got yours wrong, elbarto... and here's why

nearly every enemy and point item in the game is divisible by 500 points. That's the lowest amount of points you can get for killing something. However, there a couple exceptions... most notably those minibosses. For some reason or another, each of them award the weird value of 77,700 points. Or 155,400 if you kill them with a close-range attack. So if you get close-range kills on both of them, the hundreds of your score will be an 8 or a 3, taking into account the 500-point enemies. You can see there's a 3 in my score. Since the hundreds digit of your score was a 1, I natually assumed it was because you killed all four with close-range attacks, 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 = 16, so each digit should be a 6 or 1. So I'm not sure how you got that score. Perhaps there's something else I haven't noticed that might affect the hundreds digit of the score... but I thought I had that all figured out... oh well. This isn't important information or anything, just something weird I noticed a while back. :)

gah, and I really need to get around to pointing out the "alternate" route on Valley 5...

At first I thought I'd copied my score down from the screen wrong, but obviously not..

Maybe I only killed one of the two claw guys at close range, but I'm almost positive I got both of them like that. Perhaps there are more secrets of the scoring system still to be uncovered..
