Aside from Baseball Stars 2, I have no Neo-Geo sports games. I'm looking for a cool soccer game and was wondering which one is the coolest or best all around.

Any Sidekicks title would be a good option. However:
Sidekicks 4 (Ultimate eleven) has a prohibitive price because its very rare to find, so forget about it.
Neo Geo Cup 98 is a bit expensive compared to its predecessors (about 120 USD or more)
The cheapest one is Sidekicks 2 (very easy to find too), also is considered to be the best one by many people so you may want to buy that one.
Sidekicks 3 is more expensive than 2, and basically it’s the same.
Sidekicks 1 is harder to find than 2 and 3, but has a decent price and the playing style, graphics etc are different from the others, and it’s a very good game two.
So better go for Sidekicks 1 or 2.

Super-Sidekicks 3 or Neo-Geo CUP '98 are the way to go! (They are virtually the same game except NGC98 has a few minor updates)
Judging by your sig I would assume you have an MVS, so you might as well go with Neo-Geo Cup '98 since it is only a minor price difference.

I nabbed Super Sidekicks 2 from the Neostore, but I might get Neo-Geo CUP '98 later.
As for my sig, that's a neo-geo sarnie (KoF94' flavor), best served with cheese doodles and Guinness.

i actually like goal! x3
very fluid footy game and you can score some tremendous goals from it
i have it on AES worth having in any collection in my opinion
ultimate 11 is actually fun as well since you can now set up super volley's using other team members

By far and away the best footy game is Ultimate 11, sadly it's rare and expensive, nevertheless well worth tracking down 
If you really don't want to go there then I'd sincerely recommend SSK3 - it's better than SSK2 (smoother, quicker game play), and almost as good as NG-Cup '98 BUT cheaper!

Seems everyone here has left out poor old "Pleasure Goal"!! It's not a serious footy game, but it can be lots of fun.

Please let us know what you think of it, I've yet to actually see it in action.
I don't really like Ultimate 11, and if it's the best the neo has to offer, I'm glad I didn't play any of the others.
The AI is balls - you know how it increases the difficulty? By making your players slow and their players supermen.
Such that a CPU Iraq will beat a human controlled Brazil, Germany, or Italy without breaking a digital sweat on the higher level matches.
The only cool thing about Ultimate 11 is the hidden SNK all stars team. That's it though. Otherwise, shitty game.

Neo Geo WC98 Does it for me prolly the best soccer game out there imo...
I have Fifa world cup 2002 and it sucks donkey dick compared with neo-geo 98 there seems to be a distinct exciting feel to the game
But I would have to say that ss4 isn't that bad but just no as good as 98.

IIRC it wasn't that much different from 98 I think 98 has more flash?
2 was good for it's time but it's so hard to go back after to playing 3 or 98.

Try out Soccer Brawl also, that game is really fun! Although it is a very different futuristic-style soccer game, it's still really good. I find myself coming back to this game fairly often, it is very addicting.
I also own super sidekicks 3, which is fun. Even if you have never played a soccer game before and aren't into sports games, soccer games always seem to be fun to play.

let's get back on topic shall we? as we all know super sidekicks 2 is the best soccer game on the neo, hands down. no other soccer game can even rival that one, sure revisions were made in the game for ss3, and stuff; but to me that doesn't make it better. i love supersidekics 2, and so should you.
