Well I have a 2 slot and a 4 slot and I would like to know how to slect from one game to the other when I'm using a supergun. I have 2 superguns; a Raijin and a MAS Supernova if that makes a difference.

How about you goto www.hardmvs.com and look at the wiring diagram for a multislot and look to see which button switches between games, I think it's pin 24 or 25

That'll give you the answer as to which button to wire to be able to select which game to play.

Actually here's the link to the PDF:
http://www.hardmvs.com/manuals/Jamma2NeoGeo4SlotPinout.pdf

Look at that to show how your multislot should be wired. Good luck man.

There's no way to do it with the dip settings. I am really new to this and haven't touched the dip settings.

I don't think so, believe me, don't be intimidated by the wiring of the supergun JAMMA harness. it is really EASY.

Even the biggest newbie can handle it.

I just don't know anything about Superguns.

I'd say if there is a jamma harness used a Select button has to be wired in..

Or you'd just have to let the games cycle through..
Maybe turning off the game demonstration in soft dips may make then cycle through faster.

Well, check your JAMMA connector and see if a cable is wired to either pin "d" (lowercase ! uppercase D is +5V so don't mess with that one !) or pin 26. No need for wiring both, one is select up the other is select down but as you can cycle through games, no big deal in having only one.
Possible cases :

1/ if you have such a wire connected, then trace it to the supergun and check what is becomes inside the box. if it has a switch then you prolly had a select switch without even knowing

2/ If there is a wire but going nowhere inside the supergun, thats fine, simply connect any normally open switch, one connector of the switch to this wire and the other to ground. How to find ground ? you can either use the ground from the Power Supply (usually black) if jour supergun includes one (be extremely carefull in what you touch !) or any of the many ones available from the JAMMA harness (check diagram again : these are pins A, B, 1, 2, e, f, 27, 28...)

3/ If nothing is connected to pins d or 26, make the wiring by yourself and go on according to the scheme in 2/
Whether you want to put this switch close to the motherboard or inside the supergun is up to you. Personally I have the select buttons directly on my customs sticks (P1 has select up P2 has select down) as they are part of the DB15 connectors i use for connecting the sticks (4 directions + 8 buttons + 1 gnd + 2 spare conductors in case of ... )

Good luck !

Simply momentarily short jamma pin 26 or d to ground.

You could use one of the joystick switches to do it, thats if you dont want to mount another switch.

So stick down (or whatever) changes the game- easy.

So wait without doing any soldering or rewiring, I can simply push the joystick down and it changes the game!!

You need to take a wire from the joystick down switch to 26 or d on the jamma edge connect.
So two simple solder joints will be required

Here's an important item to remember. Whether you choose to use the select button on the joystick port (no additional wiring required) or wire a switch to the jamma harness. The board needs to be credited from the coin switch to enable the select button. Simply setting the board freeplay will not enable the select button.

Not if you set the GAME SELECT option in the SETTING UP THE CABINET soft dip to FREE or ANYTIME. Then you just press the select button (or down) to cycle through your games and start to start them. You have to have hard dip 7 (FREE PLAY) switched on though.

So you can just hook up an AES joystick to the MVS and use the select button on the stick without doing anything else!! I also have a 2 slot but no AES joystick and don't know how to cycle between games. Please respond if all you have to do is hook up an AES joystick to the MVS so that you can select through games.

Yes, if you use an AES joystick in the controller ports of an MVS board the select switch of the AES joystick allows you to cycle between games. But, this function only works in arcade mode when there is at least one (1) credit from the coin switch.

Setting the dipswitch 7 to freeplay does not allow switching between games on the 2 and 4 slot boards I have. To enable the select on the AES stick you would 1) need a switch to simulate a coin slot input or 2) use the universal bios in AES mode. In AES mode the MVS board automatically boots with 4 credits as a default, eliminating the need for a coin switch. You also get all the other great features of the Unibios with this method.

Each time in a game I will push down it will switch the game ?! o_O
It is hard to play a game without pushing down once :)

I missed something I think...

No. Read J0e Musashi's reply. You have game select set to "only when credited". Set it to "anytime".

I stand corrected, I missed that setting in the service mode set-up. Thanks for catching it.

I just try tyo put 2 games in my slot-2 and switching works :)
But I have an issue with the 2nd slot... The game which is plugged to slot #2 appears with vertical line...
If I insert nothing on slot #1 and try to play a game inserted in slot #2 it does exactly the same issue !
At first, when I bought my slot-2 I thinked that when inserting a cartbrigde only in slot # 2 this bugs were normal, but now I tried with 2 games and it makes the same, it seems my slot # 2 is bad working :(

Any idea how to fix it ?
