* Extremely responsive controls based on Thrustmaster™ firmware.
* Works in emulators or any joystick based games.
* Hand-made and thouroughly tested.
* Only six units were made and each one is numbered.
* USB cable also serves as a 6 foot extension cord.

You may wonder, why so much money for an adapter. There's only six of them and they're hand made. I will probably be selling the rest on ebay next week. Check this thread for more info. If you are interested in buying one or have questions, contact me at: floormaster01@hotmail.com

No, the real answer is this: because you, dear sir, are a fucking scumbag.

Bashing people is the last thing I'd do, especially in a selling thread but this really is too much.

200 bucks for a fucking adapter???? Are you an idiot? Or think the people here are all idiots?

I made a number of Neo-to-USB adapters, mainly for the Italian members (since I'm also Italian) and charged 20 euros, which amounts to 25 dollars, not 2 fucking hundreds of dollars!

So people, if you need this kind of device I can provide it at the above price. Even if it's an overseas shipping you can see yourself how much you'd be saving.

Now this is some funny funny shit! We may spend a lot of cash on neo stuff, but wanting $200 for THIS is just insane.

1 gravis pad + wire + 1 15pin joystick connector + 30 min of time = same thing

I like the sticker, but its not worth the extra $... sorry.

Hey man, if you wanna make them for 25 a piece fine. Mine look like they've been manufactured, no screw locks near connector, a laminated printed label. I also used hot knives to remold plastic. I spent a lot of time on this you moron, and it shows, yours looks like you drilled a hole with a dremel and shoved stuff into it.

BTW, I researched this issue and a gravis USB pad wouldn't work right off, you need inverters installed at half the buttons. I've looked at 4 different types of pads for this project.

Who cares about how they look as long as they work, moron.

His shit works for a paltry sum in comparison. Good luck selling those overpriced adaptors. No one gives a shit about your 'precious' time. Maybe you can put them on ebay and advertise them as rare to be able to pawn them off.

You may not give a shit but I do. All I said is any joystick right off the bat wouldn't work, you would most likely need exprerience in electronics to modify it to work.

I intend to put them on ebay, but I will not advertise them as 'RARE'.
I worked a long time on them and will not sell them cheap. I am a fan of the Neo community, but I also spent a lot of time on these, to give them some style.

On a side note, this board sure got a lot of nasties since I been here last.:(

The funny thing is, this really only appeals to rom users. Do you actually think a rom user is going to spend $200 on an adapter? No fucking way.

Even if SNK officialy made 6 of these, I still think it would be a hard sell.

Good luck on your sales, I wish you nothing but the best. If you do sell one, let us know so we can laugh at them. And so I can make something to sell to them as well.

Edit: Actually a USB pad works fine. I have used one in one I made and had no problems. I think it was a gravis pad too. I gave that away and just made a Neo to PSX adapter out of an old Playstation pad. That way it can be played on every system out there.

This works perfectly with all Windows OS, is cheap ($10 or even less) and it's dead easy to work with: just one IC and each leg corresponds to an input: it makes for a straightforward hack. If someone needs more info on how to do it, just open a thread in the tech forum and I'll provide detailed info.

And a note: I haven't tried to sell my own adapters here because I respect this site and think that romz related stuff is better left out.

HAHAHA good mother fucken shit! First of all those rom users are cheap skanky ass whores. Second, spend $200 on something that will be behind or hidden on my desk when I can spend it on a MVS machine? Give me a break, and I don't mean a Kit Kat :eek_2:

Let's see for $200 I can easily get a modded Xbox, and two Universal Pelican Real Arcade joysticks....
metalslug.JPG

As you can see in the picture, I don't own a modded xbox, I hate rom abusers. Go here to see how skanky they are at my forum talking about Neogeo roms, maybe you can sell it to one of them (make sure they are on crack while you ask) http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=91339

I don't understand why there is so much animosity directed at me over this.

I'm glad that someone could make these for $20 and there are joysticks out there that work very well at this. Does it mean that I should price mine according to what you think it should be priced or be banned from this message board? BTW, MKL I think that pad is only available in the UK.

I respect Neo fans and I am one. I would buy one myself if I had money and was an avid collector, maybe had a Home Theater PC, I wanted to play my games on. The reason I made these is because I believe the neo controllers to be of higher quality than for the other systems. I don't have a lot of money which I collected from my daily sales of Metal Slug AES. I knew I would have a hard time selling these, but being banned as I have just isn't fair.

EDIT: Also, why do people think that you need only play Neo Geo games with this adapter. Can't you also maybe play many 2D PC shooters and fighters with this too, or is that too inconceivable and I'm just selling roms.

I feel like I'd be ripping you off at 200

how about I trade my new PS2, new Xbox, my gold chain, and 300 dollars

That would definately make up for the costs

$200 seems a bit arrogant.

Put it all together again dude:

Parts cost then add a 50% markup.

Labor: heres where i think youve certainly inflated your work. How much do you think your time is worth? seems to me your charging like 40-50/hr, very unreasonable. Considering you made 6, i'd bet by the 6th one you learned how to produce at a much higher rate than #1-4, therefore production costs, time, etc are nothing like your developmental stage. Your first 2 may be worth more (in your eyes due to all the trouble you went through) but certainly your last 2 were a breeze.

The simple fact is that as "authentic" your convertors look, they are not Official SNK product so you shouldn't be charging as if it were a rar original authentic snk product.

for $20 bucks id be happy to get one from MKL to do some PC emulation with my AES controllers!

You did a great job and you are definately proud of your work. Price is extremely unreasonable.

Next time put a Kizuna Encounters sticker on it and include the rom and sell it to that guy that paid 12,500 for the AES cart. He might go for it.

I lowered the price to $150 and posted two of them on ebay. I have listened and I am reasonable enough to negotiate, but I cannot go for less than that.

Listen, sell them for what you want. Maybe someone will buy your shit. I don't really know. But what I do know is that your shit is way overpriced. If you think it's not, you're kidding yourself. No one cares about your time. The best businesses are those which manage to do things quickly and efficiently. You'll never see an ad saying something like, "We spent a lot of time making this, so you should buy it for more!" Just accept it that your price is way too high.

Sweet looking

I have been looking for neo geo pc converter, to be honest, this one looks really really nice and sweet. However the price is way too high, like chef in south park says " Children, I aint touching that one with a ten foot pole ". I would rather pay for 1 session of full body massage.

Just a piece of advice, if you can find a way to efficiently mass produce your invention and sell it probably way below U$ 100. It will be hot cakes.

just my 2 cent.

cheers

Do you think a strictly rom user actually owns any Neo Geo controller? Do you know how much they cost? No way they are spending that money plues whatever you want to charge for your "adaptors". For much less than 150$ you can get a MAS or X-arcade stick that directly works in the PC and even other machines at the same time.

Using a playstation controller PCB I constructed a Neo Geo-> PSX adaptor, and I have a commercially made (that looks much better than yours) PSX->USB adaptor that costed me 10$, so connecting them both (I bet you thought the people at this board is not smart enough to think of that) I can achieve the same result.

Your product is unofficial so nobody cares about the numberation, and rom users wouldn't care about its "looks", the one MKL posted looks good enough for them.

Oh I get it. He thinks because we spend £200 a time on games, we'll do the same with a controller adapter.

I spent a lot of time on this you moron, and it shows, yours looks like you drilled a hole with a dremel and shoved stuff into it.

That's funny as I actually thought that MKL's one looked way better. Seen2ks one looks like he broke open some casings for stepdown convertors and shoved stuff into it then had NEO-GEO printed on the top.

I was bored, so I decided to search for his auctions. Here they are:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=49230&item=8107356906&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=49230&item=8107357144

He calls his product the "MiracleRay USB converter". I'll just say, It'll be a miracle if someone buys one.

He actually had the balls to type "Only 6 were made. This is number 6." Nice job trying to pretend to sellers that this is a rare official product. Hopefully all ebayers are like me and aren't so easily misled.

As a hardcore ebayer, I already know your bound to lose money:

$0.60 is your initial auction fee
$5.00 for reserve auction type
$2.40 for setting the reserve at $149.99 (which I bet you did)
$8.00

EIGHT MOTHER TRUCKING DOLLARS, if those things don't sell, your out by $16. I have two ebay tips for you. First, make one auction, no reserve, see how it sells. Now you have an idea of where you can start the next auction. Second, after being a ebay user for a little bit over two years. I know Summer is NOT the best time to post up games, it's called the "Summer game drought". There's a reason why gaming companies don't produce games during this season = no one freaking buys them.

Okay I should stop scolding you. I hope you the best of luck on your auction.

You make me laugh, i prefer buying a lot, making a supergun and buying an old style pad, wich will be the same coast... And that's what i'm currently doing :D
