I bought a US Blazing Star MVS cart off him. At least that's what the picture said.

Get the cart today, and it's this cheesy fake label, with an original jpn label underneath it which is not Blazing Star (copyright 1994).

I guess I shoulda known, considering he has multiple blazing star auctions with the same picture. Still pisses me off.

We'll see what he says about a partial refund or something, or if he has any original US Blazing Star carts.

Anyone got a scan of a US Blazing Star MVS label, and know what kinda sticker to print it on?

I recently ( well not too recent cause it was over a month ago!) bought 4 MVS games off of him:

Last blade
KOF 98
KOF99
Ninja Masters

Lets just say i found the same..

Ninja Masters had a fake lable on top with a jap lable underneith which i have no idea what it is.. The game works but is super dirty! I just opened it up and it looks like the origonal.

KOF 98 and 99 has origonal lables but both are ultra dirty and i took them apart to clean it inside and out.

Last blade looks like the cart itself was painted black! I shit u not! Lable is totally fake! Even with a fake serial. Also ultra dirty.. Real game though.

I guess i couldnt bitch too much since he stats used condition and final sale as is.. I should of asked him the condition before hand..

Though that part that ticks me is that its not the same cart as pictured! And ofcourse the one that is pictured is in great condition with origonal lable and all.

Also i like to add that most of the game board chips are all stratched up.. Looks like he or someone had them all stacked loose at one time or another since it looks like the back side pins strached the chips of the board it was stacked on.

Also it took well over 2 weeks to receive the games.. Maybe cause its from Canada or something..

Also the worst shipping ya ever seen!!! he took a candy bar vending card board box and custom fit it to fit the 4 MVS games tightly and taped it up! No padding no corn or anything.. The carts just left to rub paint on one another.

Pathetic!

I bought a couple games off him before...no probs

His english sucks. Had no idea what I was asking half the time. But seemed to be nice. All my labels sucked, but I always make my own, so I didn't care.

Just heard back from him, he said send it back, he'll send an original US Blazing Star and cover shipping.

We'll see what happens.

I got a kizuna MVS from him and aside from being dirty as hell, I've got no complaints. It wasn't a boot and the label was fine...maybe, I was lucky.

I`ve bought 5 carts off him and must say that indeed the fekkers are dirrrrrty.
Even dirrrrrrty does not properly discribe them, but I`m not picky for the prices I payed.

So far I bought Aero fighters 2 & 3 , metal slug, RBFF2 and KOF 99 from him.

All original, some with the crappiest labels you`ve seen and all dirrrrrrrrty as hell but originals..... so no comments from me about that.

yaton himself is a cool guy, gave me a refund of $8 after I noticed he overcharged me for shipping.

His Packing skills are not all that as I got my last 3 games in a partial pizza box :D

but I got them fast as a mofo (within a week), so I`m not complaing about this guy at all!

First of all....
There is why we have the feedback formum nowdays

Second:
These are MVS carts from china of all places. Not AES carts from Tonk's Vault....

Third:
Was the blazing star a boot or not??? If it has a JPN label underneath, i doubt so. Was it sold as English or JPN version? Was it sold as original Label?... You should also know that it is common in that part of the world to show the most presentable item, not nessacarily the one pictured......

Fourth: You should always contact the seller with any problems and give them at least 3 days to respond before posting shit here....

fith: The title of this thread is misleading.....

sixth: I have blown alot on Jian's carts... a few bumps, but every time he has come through for me. I once got a metal slug boot and he refunded all shipping charges and sent a KOF 99 and a Mslug.

You get what you pay for.

I've bought loads of carts from him, the carts are in variable quality (and really dirty, you could grow spuds in those carts) .

Sent me a wrong cart by mistake (label was badly torn and unreadable) and so sent another immediately.

Lightning fast shipping, takes no more then 4 days from Canada to the UK. Can't really fault the guy.

First. Oh no, I put this thread in the wrong forum.
Second. You don't say? Don't be a fucking prick. Oh, and his seller location in the auction is Canada. How am I supposed to know it's coming from China?
Third. I doubt it's a boot, haven't opened it yet. The cart was listed as an original working cart, and has a US label with serials Blazing Star in the picture. So it's common in that part of the world to be misleading?
Fourth. I would have posted this anyways, even if he does come through, either with a refund or a US Blazing Star, because at the very least, people should know to ask him questions before buying, as you might not get what is pictured.
Fifth. No it's not. Ok, maybe it is a little. I guess it sorta seems like to watch out for a scammer or something.
Sixth. Great. I hope he does the same for me.

@johnkiddier I wouldn't pay $55 for a fake labeled Blazing Star. So no, I didn't get what I paid for. It might be stupid to some of you, but I'd pay a little extra for an original labeled cart whether it be US or JPN.

sorry nick, i didn't mean to come off as a prick.....

It's my fault I came off as such because I have dealt to death with yarton.I foolishly assumed everyone knew his MO by now..... I do see where you are comming from...

Especialy with a $55 blazing star.... That's alot for a BS copy......

As a side note, I just assume that every seller on ebay is shady as hell......If they are not a scammer, they are a bootlegger, if not a booter, a dirt bag......

Hello. This is my first post to this forum. I may go make an introduction post too and start looking through more info on here after this post.

I realize this thread is fairly old and the topic may be beaten to death, but I have seen a HUGE amount of carts listed on eBay from this seller and always assumed that they were bootlegs or something wrong with them.

However, it seems from this thread that this seller is rather respectible. The only negatives that I've seen is that the carts are really dirty.

Anyway, since this thread is old (I found it from a google search on that ebay seller id), is it still safe to buy from this seller?

Don't have any fear of buying from yaton. I have bought numerous carts from him; many of his carts have fake labels, but all that I have bought have been originals. He does sell some bootlegs, but if his auction says the cart is original, then it should be. On the rare occasion when a cart is a boot, he will make it right.

In short, if you want a used cart in pristine condition, yaton isn't the one to buy from. But he is an honest seller, in my experience.

Buy directly from his website www.arcademvs.com. The descriptions tell you whether you are getting a fake label or not. If you want mint or good condition carts get them from japangamesnow.com or the Neo store. For the price, don't expect good condition carts from Yaton.

The one thing I know he sells new, are Jamma Cables. At least he used to sell them on Ebay.

Awesome.

Thanks for the info, guys.

He seems to be the top seller (or lister anyway) on ebay whenever I look. so it's good to know that I can trust bidding on his items.

I'm the one that started this thread (haha funny bobster strikes again) and yaton came through with a US cart in the end. So no worries.

yaton is awesome. I have opened up all of the 8 carts I got from him: zero were boots. I got an English, original label Blazing Star from him for $35 too. And an original english KOF '98 for $15. The rest of the game's labels were fake, but the chips are real. Buy with confidence.

I've had a few dealings with yaton in ebay before and never had problems. Fast shipping and quick response. Most recent purchase was SVC US kit (new) for $75.

Well, I just bought 4 games from him (3 eBay auctions and 1 straight out). I'm looking forward to them arriving. I believe I'll print out my shock box inserts tomorrow in anticipation. :chimp:

So far my experiences with Yaton have been very good. quick communication and already left positive feedback in ebay. And to think, I would have never bought from him if I didn't hear good things here first.

Thanks again guys.

I would also like to say, yes, Yaton is a good seller on eBay. I have purchased a bunch of MVS carts from him and NONE were bootlegs. Yes the MVS stickers were fake and the carts were dirty on the inside, but, when you are looking for great carts to convert at a cheap price and not really looking for a collectable MVS game, Yaton is the one you want for real masked SNK roms! No bootlegs! :)

Overall I'm happy... he has made a ton of games available for cheap bastards like me to own...

Yes, the games are literally disgusting with dirt and cruft.

I bought Waku Waku 7 and Drift Out from him pretty cheaply. Both gave me problems but I cleaned, recleaned the carts, my 4 Slot and did the "slot dance" with the carts and got them working well enough. Picked up Shock Troopers 2, same thing...

I scored a Turf Masters off him and again, was getting errors and problems (funky music, bad pixels). Clean, "slot dance", still no worky... Worked on it long enough I actually cracked the cart open (for the first time ever) and it was a boot. <sigh> So I sent that one back to Yaton for a replacement, but he ended up just giving me my money back. So I guess that means all his remaining Turf Masters are boots?

I am kind of bummed now though, because I wonder if my Waku Waku 7, Drift Out and Shock Troopers 2 are boots? Shock Troopers 2 has an original looking label, so I think that one is safe, but the Waku Waku 7 and Drift Out are homemade color labels...
