How can I use the stereo port in the Atomiswave?

There's a connector labeled CN3 that is supposed to be used for stereo. How does it work? Does anybody have its pin-out? How would I wire 2 RCA jacks to it?
I don't have the motherboard manual, so a scan of it would be appreciated.

Thanks.

You should be able to see which pins are ground, right?
Well, what's not ground will be the stereo channels...

will this work straight to rca jacks and to a tv or would attenuation curcuits be needed?

OK, Queenie from Cosmicco was kind enough to email me some scans of the English manual so here's the pin-out (it's the same as we could see in puyo2's link, thanks for that too):

Well, I have no idea on how sound needs to be wired anyway, so can somebody please tell me how should I wire that pins to, say, a female ear-phone plug-like to get stereo from it?

The manual tells what connector you need: "JST 10-pin PHD connector"

So you go to www.jst.com , type in PHD and this is what you find:

Thanks, now I'll go to my electronics store and I'll see if can buy it... Still some dumb-proof info on exactly what pins wire and where of the female earphone stereo plug would be appreciated, although most likely I will be able to figure it out myself.

Amano, first thing you have to know when looking for the connector is the pitch, i.e. the space between pins. It appears that the pitch in this case is 2mm. Measure the distance between pin 10 and 2 (or 9 and 1) on the Atomiswave connector: it should be exactly 8mm.
As for the JST connector, I really doubt you'll find it and even if you do you'll have to crimp the terminals, which means buying an expensive tool: not worth it, I think.
I'd rather suggest you to get this type of connector:

Go to the spanish branch of www.rs-components.com and type in part number 131-9995 (sorry, direct linking is not possible).
This would be a PCB connector but you can solder wires to its pins easily. Even if it's 20 pins you can cut it in half. The pitch is 2mm and should plug into the Atomiswave. It's a connector normally available at electronics shops, so check there before ordering from that site. The best thing would be to bring the Atomiswave with you to the shop.

As for the female earphone stereo plug, you mean this?
3851.jpg

This has 3 pins (left, right, common/ground). Most probably the two stereo speaker negatives on the Atomiswave connector (pin 3 and 7) will both be ground so you can use either, not necessarily both. You solder the 3 wires and you're done...
If you don't know which pin is which on the earphone connector, check with a multimeter.

Thanks a lot for the info. Yes, I've been to the store and bought a 3.5 mm female jack just like the one I just saw you pictured. Now I know how to wire it.

About the connector, you are right, they didn't have anything that would suit it. I'll check if I can find a part like the one you mentioned.

Another thing I just thought of... Since most likely I only really need 3 pins of that connector, I remember some very thin female terminals that should fit a single pin, maybe I can just use 3 of them... This is a ghetto idea I know :eek_2:
