I am considering purchasing a MV1 board with Uni bios, and was wondering if there have been any issues with MV1 boards that do not work with newer titles such as Metal Slug 5, KOF 2003, Sam Sho V, etc.

The board I am considering buying is confirmed to not work with Rage of the Dragons.

I was just wondering if these boards also have problems with other games?

Thanks.

SS5 did not work with my MV-1 with a US bios.

Has anyone figured out a fix for that yet? Perhaps its something similiar to the RotD fix?

I think the problem with the ROTD at least is related to the cart setup and not the universe bios. The problem with SS5 isnt universebios related either as thats using a US bios.

There was one user of the universe bios who said they experianced more crashes with rotd once they installed the universe bios but I asked them to clean the bios socket pins/cart slots pins and never heard anything back again so I think their problem got fixed.

All I can tell you is that I have had no reports of other new games not working with the universe bios yet apart from an issue with kof2003 and not being able to see the ingame menu / jukebox screens (this is fixed in the yet to be released 1.3). This problem never affected gameplay.

Actualy my MV-1 gave me very few problems with both fixed and unfixed ROTD carts using both Uni 1.0 and Uni 1.3.

It was the MV1-FZ with uni 1.3 that gave me the most problems with ROTD....

Hi Raz,

it was me you spoke to regarding Unibios v1.2 crash problem.

In was having problems with most of my games resetting in console mode after I installed v1.2

Sorry I haven't got back to you but I've been trying to get a decent amount of play time in before I got back to you.

Since cleaning the sockets and clearing the backup ram I've had both ROTD and Metal Slug1 reset once.

Only done it the once so far in a couple of hours of play so I can't definately say whether it's fixed or not. After the crash I cleared the backup ram again and it hasn't reset since.

I'll give it a few more hours before I can conclusively saw whether clearing ram and cleaning sockets has worked.

Thanks for your help though.

ROTD is the only game I've ever had problems with; I'm running an MV-1F with UNI-BIOS 1.2.

I can't try KOF 2K3 since I have the JAMMA version, and I don't have SSV or Metal Slug 5 yet.

For what it's worth, Pochi and Nyaa (a relatively new release) works flawlessly on my MV-1F board. I suspect that would run fine on an MV-1 as well.

I had a problem with my old MV1 board, in which Matrimelee, Rage of the Dragons did not work at all, and I also had sound problems with Sam Sho 5.

I have a 2 slot now, and it works perfectly.

I have a MV-1 board and I have had problems with ROTD. My BIOS on the date only goes up to 1999 and I have been wondering is there a way to tell what version BIOS you have. Obivously it is an older BIOS, but wonder if that could be at least one of the problem makers for games that give problems. With ROTD it is a cart problem, but is it with the others? Just a thought.

for many people i know, they had issues with slug 5 cart mvs on a 1 slot, so they got the jamma pcb.

the mvs would go green screen/crash/sound mute.

happend to 3 people i know, and they had no mods done to the mvs!

crazzzy.:rolleyes:so 2 of them got jamma boards and got $20 off for ordering together from this guy in canada.

was the jamma pcb of slug 5 released as an english release? or jap only?

Hey guys,

I'm planning on getting a 1-slot for my Capcom mini cute cab.

I need to know which will work best, since there seems to be several incompatibillity issues with 1-slot mobo's.

Any input/suggestion will be highly appreciated.

Thanks!

Rotd

Just did the ROTD fix on my cart today, and am pleased with the results, it fixed Home mode, but Arcade still glitches a bit (but not nearly as much). Occasionally the sound kicks out in the game, but not usually. If anyone is interested I could probably hook them up with the fix.

UPDATE: SSV works fine with my MV-1F and UNI-BIOS 1.2 and 1.3.

Same here.
My MV-1F (with standard English BIOS) runs SSV perfectly.

ROTD is another story, though. :(

Hi -

Forgive my ignorance, but I just got ROTD and I have an MVS 1-slot, and it constantly resets - is this the same problem you guys were talking about? If so, what is the fix you are referring to? I wanted to buy SSV as well, but I'm afraid it might now work.

Thanks!
