S-Video and Region Modded Turbo Duo and SuperGrafx!!!! Super CDRom2 unit too!

Yes, you read that right! I am selling both an S-Video and region modded Turbo Duo and also an S-Video and region modded SuperGrafx!

The S-Video works beautifully and is very stable! I have built an S-Video circuit (a BIG BIG thanks to member Matt for his help and original prototype!) for the Turbo Grafx/Duo and PC Engine systems. I am currently offering these 2 systems for sale.

With the modded Turbo Duo, you can play:
  • US HuCards
  • Japanese HuCards
  • US CDs and SuperCDs
  • Japanese CDs and SuperCDs
Also, if you get an Arcade Card Duo, you can play the Arcade CD Rom games including the SNK titles! Basically this system will play everything except the 5 SuperGrafx titles.

What's that, you want to play those 5 SuperGrafx titles? Well buy the S-Video and Region modded SuperGrafx!
With the modded SuperGrafx, you can play:
  • US HuCards
  • Japanese HuCards
  • SuperGrafx HuCards (Ghouls & Ghosts, Battle Ace, etc)

Want to play ALL the HuCards, SuperGrafx Hu's, AND ALL CDs and SuperCD Roms? Then add the Super CDRom 2 unit!

Prices (including priority, insured, tracked shipping within the US):

S-Vid + Region modded Turbo Duo: $sold!
S-Vid + Region modded SuperGrafx: $sold!
SuperCDRom2 unit: $sold!

And if you want both the SuperGrafx and the SuperCDRom2 unit, total is $sold!

Cosmetically, all the systems are in very good condition. The Turbo Duo has very minor cosmetic blemishes (a couple of tiny marks/scratches). The SuperGrafx is a tad bit dusty and has some cosmetic marks/scratches. Both the Duo and SuperCDRom2 disc drives work very well. The SuperGrafx was tested for 3 HOURS last night and the Duo has been tested for 30 min (will be further tested for 2 hours tonight). Both the Duo and SuperGrafx come with their original controllers, original AC and AV adapters, and all proper port covers.

Check below for pics comparing the S-Vid and Composite outputs from the same machines. Note the reduced blurring and the correct brightness of the S-Video screens.

I'm not sure the NG.com crowd is ready for something like this....

I'm eyeing the supergrafx. I already have the same SuperCDRom unit. Currently it fits and wors with a CoreGrafx. Are any additional parts needed to have it work with the Supergraphx? I seem to remember reading that you needed an additional (extention?) piece to get it to fit?

It fits together without any added parts. The gray cable you see in the pic interfaces with the power on the CoreGrafx, but not SuperGrafx so you will need both power supplies for it to work.

Okay, now I'm tempted...

You wouldn't happen to have some SGx games for sale along with the unit?

First, to answer the mod "service" question:
$50 + ship for region
$60 + ship for S-Video w/RCA (composite) video and stereo
$100 + ship for both

For SGX games, you mean like these?

Pretty sweet games Dean has there for Supergrafx. However, he's missing Darius Alpha. Only crazy people like me would be willing to shell out so much money for it, though.

Jon

Also just wanted to add that Dean is an awesome seller who packs his package with way too much bubble wrap, popcorn, styrofoam, etc. to see that it doesn't get damaged along the way...and, everything he ships is always insured. One of the best sellers I've dealt with in a long time.

Hmm... So, I'm guessing you wouldn't have any spare SGx games for sale with the SGx?

How much to add Component as well?

Would it be possible to add a component video output as well? If so how much would that cost?

sure it might be possible, but undoubtedly very pricey. Also haven't even thought about trying it since that would take a bit of time to figure out
i'll look into it though

Where would you put it would be my question. There probably would be plenty of room on the Turbo Duo, but, if you're using the Supergrafx and the SuperCDROM2 unit, you'd probably be screwed.

Regardless, if you ever decided to do that mod, I'd definitely be interested. I was very impressed with Svideo's quality on my Supergrafx you modded.

Jon

PS: I've asked this a couple times but, haven't got a response on this...Digital audio. Would THAT be possible?

digital audio is probably a pipe dream. I'd assume the source would have to be digital first. Besides the fact that I have NO idea on where to start with the audio processor. Very little can be found on it online.

Also, I assume now that component video is also not possible. The source video (yes, even though it's RGB) is not in the proper format.

anyone interested in more info on video encoders check out this page.

Are you able to mod Supergrafx systems for RGB. I have an rgb modded Duo done by Matt, but I am considering replacing it with a Supergrafx with CDrom2 attachment so I can play everything. If I were to get that modded would you mod just one or the other or both systems? I would love the stereo mod as well.
