he has auto guard up the ass.

his standing hard punch has auto guard.

2000 he was okay.
then 01 they took away all his auto guard
and quite honestly he isnt the player he used to be.
praise eolith and their gay bounce them off the wall attack
line attack or whatever you call it.
but maxima is pretty much neutered nowadays.
was he in 2002?
i ve been too apathetic to care after how eolith and/or playmore
seem to take away good characteristics from the cool characters
and jumble up the main characters with the best moves.
i feel it all leads to a less balanced game.
but hey.
its not like anyone wants another 98 right?
or at least thats the general consensus from what i tend to see here.

Maxima rocks in 99' and 2000'.In 2000, his F+A comes out faster allowing you to combo and his new anti-air move is good.
He got slightly weaker in 2001' but his supercancel into the bunker buster is useful and damaging.

-I don't like his style (but then again, I generally
don't like "big guy" characters in fighters)
-that annoying forward-sliding lift and throw
-"VAPAA CANNON!"

So, yes, it's more of a personal thing (nothing

maxima is my favorite kof character, ramon being second. his win taunt is by far the coolest of any game i've seen. dunno why i like it so much, but i do.

maxima is a cool fighter though he has some tricky super special attacks and combos are a little difficult to execute correctly, i still like him. however i agree with moriya's post that he must be sacrificed for the tournament so Kula, K and Whip can do their KOF thang...I have a big feeling though Tizoc and some of the new garou crew aren't going to have that many fans...but that's a new topic...

I never liked him. I think it was due to the fact that he had a giant lazer cannon in his cheast. IDK I thought that was kinda gh3y to have in a fighting game like KOF. But maybe that's just me..

I like ol' Maxima... He's a MONSTER in 99 and 2000, and a pretty cool design for a big guy. He helps give K' a personality also. Personally I hope they keep working with him and keep him on the team. Kula and Whip are both horrible designs that should be removed from KOF altogether (1 down, 1 to go!)
