Sega NAOMI the Next MVS??

IN case you live under a rock there is this kind of new arcade hardware well not really but not alot of people know about it.Its called the sega naomi and man does it push out some excellent graphics.If your not familiar its home to these arcade Greats. Virtua Fighter 4,Zero Gunner 2,Ikaruga,Capcom Vs SNk 2,Marvel Vs Capcom 2 and the list goes on and on.The reason i say naomi is the next mvs is because most of the games come on cart and can easily be swtiched out ala the mvs.Theres even a cd drivei n the newer Naomi 2 which i am lucky enough to own he he.So this seems to me the games would be fairly easy to attain and cheap to manufacture as well.I hope this hardware lasts a while.Main reason i bought it was Guilty Gear xx ,Downforce aka (Layer Section 4),And marvel Vs Capcom 3.I know of more great games coming out soon.But lets not forget nintendo is releasing the triforce on us later this year and it runs on a modified Naomi Gd rom set up.Hopefully arcade games will become cheaper to buy and more abundant to us consumers.Here s having hope!

yeah but its all capcom games, how can i play my fave SNK games on a capcom system... maybe i am living in the past... NAH!

No chance. Sega charges outrageous royalty fees. I hear this from Capcom themselves. The profit's not there.

Also, let me know when MvC3 is coming out. This game is still a rumor, confirmed by Capcom themselves.

I definately wouldn't refer to the Naomi as new. It's a cool hardware setup with some quality games but it's days are numbered if not over.

With out the ease of porting to a console one of it's big perks has been removed because even if the fans are hanging on, the Dreamcast is dead as far as developers are concerned.

The easiest example of this is Capcom. They've moved thier VS. series from the Naomi to System 246 even though they're evenly matched hardware wise and, probably, the Naomi would be better suited for 2D games.

So there's not gonna be MvC3 or anything else on Naomi.

I'll actually be surprised if there are any major games after Ikaruga and arcade games will move to either Triforce, System246 or dedicated hardware.

The only announced VS. game is sorta a VS. All-Star game, at least from what I've read it'll have popular Capcom characters, so far no mention of any Marvel characters.

It'll be on System246.

umm.... NAOMI is what, about 7 years old now (1998)

I'm looking forward to the Lindbergh board and its games, as well as Xbox360's enevitable arcade incarnation and its games.
