OK, I have an opportunity to buy a cab with Ranger Mission in it and a pristine monitor for $250. I looked up what games were released for the Atomiswave system, and Metal Slug 6 and a single Samurai Showdown/Spirits game were released on it.
It doesn't really make me want an Atomiswave very much, so here's the question:

How much does an Atomiswave setup normally go for?
Is this a good deal?
Any other really good titles for it?
And how hard to find are those?

I'm tempted to get it just for the monitor and turn around and sell the setup inside.

BOUGHT 'EM, SEE BELOW!

Atomiswave mobo is like $100-140 I think? Seems like a good deal. I want one, but haven't splurged on it because there's only 1 or 2 games I'd really want on it... Did Naomi first because there's a lot of games I want. If you are getting an Atomiswave for HnK make sure to get the Asia Version of HnK. I don't remember what it was but I heard that the Asian version has something the US doesn't. maybe someone else can provide more details.

Right on. So I bought the Ranger Mission, a Police Trainer 2 (both of those for $250 each), and an Alien Front sitdown tank battle game for $425. The tank game has two sweet 27" monitors, and dual NAOMI mobos...Chaching! RM has a WellsGardner monitor manufactured in '05! Sweet... They're both WG, so I'm happy.

But the idiot operators forgot to tell me the monitor in Ranger Mission wasnt bolted down, so when I lifted it onto its back in my truck bed, the monitor flipped up and broke the mirror. :(

Thank goodness I already have a Police Trainer 1 cab with no monitor...I'll transfer the entire Ranger Mission game to that cab, and have PT1 as a backup board for PT2 cab. :)

Plus which I met a really cool chick that was the manager for the place (little lazertag/vr/gaming/bumper cars family place). Gonna call that girl up and see what's the what.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

There are some decent Atomiswave games. There are 5 SNK titles: KOF Neowave (hey it's dirt cheap), KOF XI, SamSho VI, Metal Slug 6 (way better than 4 & 5 - this is actually a decent slug), and Neo Geo Battle Coliseum. Aside from that there are Rumble Fish 1 & 2 (#1 is inexpensive and very good), Fist of the North Star, Knights of Valor. Few other games for the system that are popular like Demolish Fist and Dolphin Blue, but they're not my cup of tea.

That is great info, I may print it out for later reference. Thanks!

I'd be interested in buying it from you if you wish to sell. Also willing to trade for my naomi setup and change.

Also...forgive my redneck appearance. JazzyNYC and I were taking that apart, loading/unloading and reassembling it for like 4 hours. My dogs are barkin...

It was so weird. Saturday I just felt like driving around town to all the places that had arcade machines. Quite a few strike outs, but then I hit this "Family Fun Center".
http://www.hinklefamilyfuncenter.com/for_sale.php
You'll notice they have Police Trainer 2 listed for $500, and Ranger Mission for $600.
But they had signs on the machines for $250, and a sign on AlienFront for $500.

I asked to speak with the manager, offered $400 cash for AlienFront. She came back with $450, and we met in the middle.
The other two they would not go lower on, since they were already so damn cheap.
My buddy also picked up an "Invasion" cab for $250, mainly for the brilliant monitor it had in it.
Several of their games did NOT have for sale signs on 'em, but were indeed for sale.
Not everybody thinks to advertise on Craigslist, either.
Seriously, take a day and call around to see if any of these types of places are selling any of their older, non-earning games.
The reason THIS place was selling so many for so cheap is they are getting new machines in 2 weeks, and need the floor space.

You lucky bastard! Alienfront is an awesome game and that one looks to be in pristine condition. I've played it at my local Round Table Pizza and it's great fun. It still appears to be a good earner too, it's been there for quite a while.

Well, as much as you're working, October will be here before ya know it.
And it'll be like Christmas when we get that sweet MvC2 Big Blue to your place!
Don't be sad...I hooked you up with that sick Blue from Sacramento. :)
Also, thanks a bunch, man. Could NOT have done it without your help!

Dude, pristine? Absolutely. I mean, aside from the gum stuck under it, various spilled/dried fluids all over it, dust over an eighth of an inch thick inside....yeah.

And may I say, I'm envious of you for having a Round Table Pizza nearby. One of the things I miss about Cali is some of the cool places to eat. In-N-Out burger, Round Table, etc.

But yeah, it's a freakin awesome game.
Made for smaller people than me and my friends, but it's cool.

I hate you.

Awww, how sweet. I hate you for being in Hawaii. :)

Grats! Awesome deal there, wish I had your luck :spock:

Dude, it's really NOT luck. You make your own. Google search for arcades or amusement in your city. Check out those places online if they have sites, call them if they don't. But do the legwork, and you'll find some good shit, too.
Guaranteed.

Replacing the mirror shouldn't be that difficult though if you know the size needed, but it is a bummer that it broke in the first place.

Ya know, I really just prefer direct view games. Adding a mirror just adds one more element that can affect the clarity of the game.
Plus, honestly my Police Trainer 1 (used to be a Primal Rage) is a nicer cab with a smaller footprint. So it works out.

Somehow the batman hat pulls it all together.

:buttrock:

Dude I was eating some pizza with a buddy in Santa Fe a couple weeks ago, and this chick walks up to me and asks where I got the hat. Then she says, "My friend and I are huge Batman fans" and pulls her shirt way up to reveal that same Batman logo tattooed just underneath and to the right of her breast.
It was awesome...

Please do!

On another note, I went back to that place today to return a 12v power supply that was extra, and they hooked me up with the keys to the seat locks. Now I don't have to drill them out!
For those of you who want to know what a 10 year old NAOMI setup looks like having never been cleaned, I present to you:

You DON'T want to see the rags after I got done cleaning the seat, steering wheel, and buttons.... (Why isn't there an emoticon for puking...?)
