hey there,

Got a playchoice board and the following games:

baseball
rygar
double dragon
pro-wrestling
Mike tyson's punch out
track and field
contra - common
rad racer
super mario 3
teeenage mutant ninja turtles

I know the boards aren't jamma but is playing this in a jamma cab as simple as wiring up a little converter board or is there more to it? the info I have found so far isn't well laid out.

Also curious of the price for the games I got in case I decide to sell any of them, any one have any insight into prices?

thanks!

I will get a hold of NeoGeeO and have him answer your playchoice to jamma questions because he is an expert. You will have to add a few buttons to your cab though to navigate the game selection screen. I can help with the game pricing though:

baseball-very common-under $20
rygar-uncommon-$50 to $75
double dragon- common-$40
pro-wrestling-very common-$20
Mike tyson's punch out-common- $50 to $75
track and field- common-$40
contra - common- $75 and up
rad racer -uncommon-$40
super mario 3-common- $60 to $75
teenage mutant ninja turtles -uncommon-$50 to $75

by the way the only neo game on the system is baseball stars-uncommon-$50

You are correct, there is no ready made Playchoice to JAMMA adapter. The best option as of now, for single monitor PC10, is to buy the VS. Unisystem adapter from Mikes Arcade
http://www.mikesarcade.com/cgi-bin/store.pl?sku=VS2JAMMA

All my experience is with the single monitor Playchoice boards - they have 2 edge connectors. The dual monitor PC10 have a single edge connector. Seems backwards to me, anyways...

The Playchoice (single monitor) and VS Unisystem have reversed pinouts, so the parts side of one is the solder side of the other. So you end up using the adapter upside down. The side with the label faces down, this also makes the JAMMA connector backwards, but its keyed so you should be fine.

The right edge connector is for all your controls. These all need to be redone, even when you flip the connector over(so the wires are on the solder side) the player 1 and 2 are still reversed and buttons are mapped wrong. So expect to rewire the player controls. Also, the adapter had grounds soldered to the wrong place - the JAMMA connector is wider than the left PC10 edge connector, but both have grounds on the ouside pins - well mike just brings the grounds straight across, does not move them in a few spaces to match with the pc10 grounds, they connect to nothing.

The last thing is to wire up 2 buttons. These 2 buttons do the following
1. One cycles through the list of game
2. One selects the game to play
3. Holding them both down, exits game to selection menu

I have wired up 2 of these so far, so I kinda have a routine. I wish someone would pick up their PC10 so it would stop cluttering my workshop, you know who you are :shame:

If you dont mind soldering everything, and I know I dont :D - then you could go this route
http://www.mikesarcade.com/cgi-bin/store.pl?sku=NININVAMP
This still would need some parts from JAMMABOARDS, so the cost savings might not be that great. The VS. Unisystem adapter is about 70% correct, so that is a better start, I guess.:loco:

thanks so much for the info!! I am not against doing some soldering, just gotta decide if this is a keeper or not I guess.... ideally I'd chuck this in a pretty Nintendo cab...we shall see!

Again thanks for the quick and detailed replies!!

I know, I know, I'll come by this week. :D Been sick like a dog lately. Or maybe more like a pig since I think I probably had swine flu.
