Sunset Riders arcade machine GOT IT! ADDED PICS!

a guy in my area has a nice condition sunset riders machine selling for $300

I was trying to hold off till I can get my hands on a candy cab, but this Sunset Riders is so tempting. only problem is it's a pretty big beast lol. but the 4p control panel is so nice. especially since I have TMNT, and Turtles in Time. not sure what to do. the price seems really good though...

wife is gonna kill me when I bring that beast home LOL go for it?

UPDATE:

So I picked it up tonight! first cab and ofcourse it had to be a 4P Beast lol

The cab needs a little work though, but im up for a project.

If you'll want to play a lot of 4P games, it's probably the way to go. It's impossible to play 4P games on a candy...obviously unless you only use 2P mode

How's the monitor on it? That's probably the biggest thing when looking at a cab. $300 seems good.

That's an insanely good price for a very good game. The fact that you can use so many killer PCBs on it too is more than enough reason to drop the 300 bones.

You defnitely won't regret buying that cab.

That cab can go for 1000+ right?

Sounds like a killer deal to me!

That would be a nice cab to have. I have a crapload of 4-player PCBs, including every Konami one, and I have no cab. Some games use 3 buttons though.

if you've got 2 candies, you can link them.

That's actually really nice condition. Needs a bit of work under the CP on the front and obviously replace the sticks/buttons, but looks really good otherwise.

Konami, Taito and Data East PCBs are a quick swap unless they use 3 buttons. For other games you will need to wire some new connectors.

One of the easiest things you can do when you start to fix it up is use Bondo to smooth out the missing pieces around the edges of your control panel box. Once the bondo is sanded and the box painted black, it looks pretty much new again. I did this on my midway cab and it turned out awesome.

Best of luck, and show us pics of what you do with it.

my friend came over today and we tried to get the cab down into my basement but it just couldn't make the turn on the stairs to go down. looks like this cab is gonna have a permanent place in my garage. I don't mind though, just wish my garage was heated!

Started cleaning the cab up today and started replacing the joysticks and buttons. already starting to look much better. will try to bondo those chipped pieces of wood like suggested this weekend.

ya the 3rd and 4th player buttons and joystick are on seperate konami harnesses. the cab is also setup with molex type quick connect/disconnect connectors for each of the players controls. makes disconnecting and removing the control panel really easy. acutally every single connection seems to have molex type disconnect (speaker, monitor, everything)

pretty nice so far. gonna add my TMNT pcb into the cab tomorrow.

It's standard. That's how it comes from the factory. TMNT doesn't have stereo sound (only sound from the jamma edge) so you might run into a wiring issue there.

that cab is running mono sound. if you look at the photo of his board, I believe it's CN1 (or CN7, I can't make out the number) (the connector on the top right by the 3 caps with the 4 pins), the connector is not being used. That is for stereo sound out. mono runs through the jamma harness.

You're right, the stereo connector is not connected. That sucks. That should be fixed. I should have looked at the pic first. I misread his post about all the molex connectors.

Most jamma boards only run in mono. and yes this cab is setup with only mono. I could add another speaker and wire up something for the the boards that offer stereo. I didn't really look too closely at the sunset riders pcb but from what you guys are saying it can be run in stereo too if I hook it up that way. definitely on the to do list.
