I've been streamlining my proto collecting toward NES exclusively, so I'm looking to sell off some of my SNES and Genny protos. All prices include shipping in the US, international shipping will be a bit more but reasonable. I'm open to offers, so don't be afraid to send one along. Without further ado, the protos!

Mortal Kombat 3 SNES EPROM Chips: $75

Not sure what is on this one, I've never had a chance to hunt down a test board to it and I'm not handy enough to dump the chips and combine them into a working ROM file. Might be the final version, might have the Graveyard level, who knows?

Vectorman 2 Genesis Proto: $40

Super Pitfall Genesis Proto, Final Version: $40

NBA Jam T.E. SNES Proto: SOLD!

Super Pitfall SNES Proto, Final Version: SOLD!

Bubsy II Genesis Proto: SOLD!

Bart's Nightmare SNES Proto, PAL Version: SOLD!

Super Bomberman 2 SNES Proto, NOT WORKING: $35 PENDING

Super Pitfall Genesis Proto, Early Build: $115

Game has a bizarre Sega logo, completely different Temple name, and completely different power up names. Could very well be more differences, though I haven't gone through the entire game.

As far as the non-working protos, you may be able to just dump the chips and combine the files into a working ROM, or maybe the chips are bad and you can use the proto board for other chips you have.

Thanks for looking, let me know if you have any questions, and don't be afraid to send offers!

$150 for unverified EPROMs of MK3 that might be the retail version? Or just contain crap data and MK3 stickers over the windows?

Sell me an SNES EPROM long board and I'll test them for you. I'm not neglecting to test them, I just don't have the means is all.

I could just charge a few hundred bucks for games that I refuse to test or could very well have already been dumped, but Dream seems to have cornered the market for that sort of shit. Man do I fucking hate Jason...

I can dump the chips individually, but I don't have the skills to combine the files. Wouldn't be much help to anyone if I did that unless I gave the files away, at that point I don't think I'd have much of a market for a sale :)

I hear you though, if it is just crap data I wouldn't want to shell out $150 for it. If it were the same as the retail version though, being from such a high profile series I could definitely see this thing being worth $150. I'd buy any Mega Man NES proto I don't have for $150 a piece even if they were the final version, I wouldn't hesitate for a second at $200. Just depends who is looking for it.

What do you think a fair price is? $100? $75? Anything less than that and I be better suited hinting down an EPROM board for it and holding onto it.

Personally I wouldn't feel comfortable selling it unless I knew for a fact what it was. I could put up a bunch of 32mbit EPROMs with "Fun Fun Bros" labels and ask $2000 saying that I've never tested them. I'm not at all saying you are intentionally trying to scam someone, but look at it from the buyer's perspective. Without proof of the data contained on the EPROMs, you are basically selling 32mbit of EPROMs (I'm guessing they're 4mbit/ea) with MK3 stickers on them. That's all.

Stop wrecking this dude's thread. If you think his stuff is a rip-off, then don't buy it. Shut up and move on.

No wonder I have you on ignore. I shouldn't have bothered to read your post but I did out of sheer morbid curiosity. :oh_no:

(By the way, I only put people on ignore that flake out on me in deals or try to lowball me, so you have no room to talk about other peoples' deals. You're probably only fucking with this guy to lowball him.)

Quick post to clear up some things:

Mrmark is my twin brother, and I can vouch for the validity of these items. Mark would post himself, but apparently the mods have put a temporary ban on him responding to this thread (why exactly, I'm not sure).

The MK3 prototype was bought with many other prototypes and was purchased from a former employee. Using a hex-editor, a quick examination of the chips will confirm that they are indeed from a MK3 prototype. Unfortunately, Mark and I aren't savvy enough to combine the rom ourselves. Hopefully the new owner will be able to do just that.

If that isn't enough background information for someone to purchase the chips, that's completely understandable. I would suggest that you not buy them if you're not comfortable.

We've had many Neo members over our house, and each can vouch for our prototypes and our knowledge of such items. Again, if you don't feel comfortable with the item or think the price is high, that's completely fine. The crapping was a bit unnecessary though.

Hopefully the mods will allow Mark to post in this thread once again. Otherwise members can feel free to send questions to me and I will forward them along.

Sorry for the confusion,
- Matt

Mark and I have a massive collection of NES prototype stuff, but those will be staying in our collection. I know we have a cool GB prototype that is actually a progression of 8 seperate builds in various stages of development. It's a boxing game, but I can't think of the title off hand. If there was interest in that I could ask Mark to post it. I will have to dig through some stuff and see what else we have. I know we have some other Dev stuff including some boards and systems.
cool stuff here! Will there be more later...? also YGPM!

I can vouch for them. I've seen their Prototype collection in person and it's crazy the amount that they have found and the history behind each one.

These 2 spend a good amount of time researching, playing and acquiring in the Prototype "genre"? :P

I've never lowballed anyone on here, I've always paid people's asking prices or at the most asked for a discount when buying multiple items. I've also never PM'ed committing to buy anything and then backed out. Please give an example of when I lowballed you or backed out on a deal. Until then you're just spouting nonsense. I have absolutely zero interest in purchasing protos so your theory about me trying to lowball him is laughable at best.

Not trying to crap on this thread at all, the other protos are all very interesting. I even said I'm not accusing him of trying to rip anyone off, just figured it'd help the sale if he could clarify what he is selling.

The prototypes are clearly labeled, including the MK3 prototype. The description clearly states what you're getting, so there is nothing to clarify. Seeing as it's obvious that you wont be purchasing anything, why don't you leave it up to potential buyers to add comments.

Bubsy II (Genesis) has been sold to INfintido

No idea what is going on with my posting capabilities, but like 1 out of every 10 post goes through. Usually I just get some "your post will show after mod approval" message, but I've PM'd every mod and admin without a response.

pcc08 and infintido: PMs sent!

I just wanted to add regardless of the feelings Beaglepuss and MrMark have towards me, they do sell authentic products and these are no exception. The MK3 EPROMS are real and match the writing on the ones I have on an existing board from my days as a magazine editor.

All of the remaining items are very nice pieces of history. Anyone who purchases them will be very pleased.

Top notch sellers/buyers/people...blah blah.

The fact that someone would question the Beags Bros. integrity boggles my mind.

Bump for you guys and your awesome proto collection.

Good to hear man, glad it went to a good home!

I really want these gone, so I'm going to drop the price one last time. If I can't get these prices, I'm probably better off just holding onto them.

SNES stuff:

MK3 chips: $75
NBA Jam T.E.: $50
Super Pitfall: $40

Take all 3 SNES protos for $140 shipped!!!

Genesis Stuff:

Vectorman 2: $40
Super Pitfall: $40
Super Pitfall, second copy: $40
Super Pitfall, very early build: $115

Take all the Genesis protos for $215!!!

Take all remaining SNES and Genesis protos for $325 shipped!!!

So that's 7 protos, including at least one that is very different from the final version, for less than $50 a piece. Hope this sells them, let me know if you're interested!
