I have a 6 slot big red cab (original behemouth size) with a 25 inch monitor in it. For some reason it came with a black cardboard thing that hides the edges of the monitor and the inside of the cab. Needles to say, it looks like crap. Does anyone have one of these Bezels? Do you like it if you do have one? I have no idea what shipping is on this. Also if anyone knows, are these the kind of speakers you need to replace on a cab.

Mine work fine, but one of them has a different volume than the other for some reason.

I've got a 2 slot big red with a 25" monitor as well, and it also has a paper board bezel around the monitor. I've been thinking about replacing it as it has some water damage on it. The ones you linked look really nice.

i just purchased one of the bezels from happs for my 19 in ch neo cab
they look nice but the only downside is they are shallow (about half as deep as the one i had in the machine that had cracked)so they dont reach all the way to the monitor

All of my cabs has the plastic bezel and yes, it is worth it. Make sure you have a sharp blade to trim down any excess. I've had no issues with the bezel not fitting in any of my cabs.

BEFORE YOU ORDER SPEAKERS...

Swap the speakers around and see if the problem stays with the speaker or goes to the other side.

I'm willing to bet it goes to the other side. You'll probably need to replace some bad caps on the board.

Black cardboard has got to be the most ghetto way of covering the wood around a monitor. These bezels are a MUST. They make the game actually look nice instead of total ass.

Happ is a little expensive, but I've ordered bezels from these guys for about 6 of my machines. They are very nice ones, even if they are on the slightly expensive side.

Not true in all cases. Depends on where your monitor is mounted. You can fix that by remounting your monitor inside. All of mine are nice and flush against the monitor. You can add extra wood or supports behind the monitor, depending on how it's mounted, to make it look nice and clean.

i could remount my monitors but thats one big p.i.a and a lot more work than i want to do just to use a cheap 12$ bezel from happs(40 shipped for 2)

im just going to keep an eye out for the original style bezels that have the deep well as i have several machines here that could use a new bezel and all of them are old school machines and are setup for the deep bezel(several of witch dont allow me an option to change the mounting of the monitor)

im not saying that the happs bezels are not nice (they are verry nice and also pretty thick plastic) but be shure that they have the proper depth for your cab or you will have to deal with the p.i.a steps of adjusting your monitor so the bezel sits flush

I went ahead and ordered the bezel along 2 sets of new buttons, some wiring ends, and 2 joysticks. It came to about $78 however they wouldn't tell me what shipping cost was and they charged me $99 bucks on my credit card, then they sent me an invoice for $112 and charged that to my card. So now, my card has those two charges. I wonder how they can do that without letting you authorize the cost with shipping??? Does anyone know? I emailed them asking that same question and they have yet to respond and it wont let me cancel my order. I wonder if I should call and file a charge back with my credit card.

they hit me for 14$ fot shiping on 2 of the 19 inch bezels (since they are oversized freight thats reasonable )
i never noticed 2 charges on my cc i would assume they will refund the 99$ charge and just charge you the 112

since happs is more about suplying larger compaines shipping is usually not a thought since they usually deal in super large lots

my order went verry well but it was kinda scary waiting for my shipping invoice lol unchure if was going to be 10$ or 200$

Yea as long as they refund that 99 I'll be happy, I'm sure that for a big arcade, shipping isn't even considered in a cost.

Happ always rapes on shipping. I've always found it best to buy from a reseller, the stuff is usually cheaper that way too.

So, got the bezel last night and after completely obliterating it (cutting it to fit including the inside or it) I got it in. Problem is, now my glass that goes over the screen is very tight on the top where it slides in and very loose on the bottom because it wont go all the way in to its little lip. I didn't realize the bezel would add so much thickness. Anyone else have that problem?

I got one of these plastic bezels for my big red with 25", and got the same freakin' problem.

So that leads to my question - what kind of bezel did a big red originally have?

And yes, I know: threadcomancy!

Anybody?

I do have some wooden black brackets that go around the monitor - not sure if that was the only bezel or if they were used to hold something else in place.

I haven't seen another Big Red in the wild for over 10 years, so I can't remember what the original bezel looked like.
